Great spot.

Very friendly place with good sized sites. Located right at coos canyon. A winding rocky river gorge. Some swimming holes and spots to jump from up on the ledges. Angel falls is about a ten minute drive from here and well worth the trip. Plenty of hiking trails including tumble down mountain. And no shortage of places to fish. You can also rent some gear to go gold panning along the river.

Brief.

My visit was very brief. It was unplanned and got there just before dark. I was surprised that anywhere was still even open. Friendly service but I didn't have a chance to see much. I was in a rush to get my tent set up while I could still see. I managed and got a fire going in the provided ring. Sat for a while watching the fire with the ocean as the background. It poured all night so we took off pretty early. There is so much to see in the area that you won't want to spend much time hanging around in one spot. The prices are high compared to many other maine locations but very fair for the area! I would stay again for sure!

Seasonal users.

Busy. But friendly. Seems to be more seasonal camper, campers. The lake is nice and there is a good hike just up the street. The Bri mar trail. Aka. Rattlesnake mountain. Don't worry we have no rattle snakes!!

Mild Backpacking.

Short hike to the summit where we found two lean tos. Set up camp for the night.

Family camping.

This state park seems to be more geared toward family camping. The sites are crammed in but it's still comfortable. Sebago lake is a great spot for all types of fishing. From bass to landlocked salmon. And you can take the boat up river through the songo locks. All the way up to long lake. Stop at Naples causeway for a bite to eat. Plenty of good area hikes near by.

design downside

to th liti have visited twice once was at a group site on the shore of web lake. this was a great experience. the sites are large with a lean to and a small beach for swimming, fishing. the views are amazing. the second trip i stayed at a regular site in the campground. you have to hike or drive downe water. this was a downside to me. i had a boat to haul back and forth. i would be much nicer to have a site on the water that i could leave my boat in the water next to. otherwise the campground is clean, well maintained and quiet.

true Maine

we had a group site for 11 of us. we fit all our tents and a rain shelter easily and 5 cars in the parking across the street. keep in mind there is no running water here.bring plenty or water purifying filters or tablets. there is an outhouse and it is kept clean. there are also large wooden rain shelters between the group sites. be sure to put all food away at night.
