We spent a long weekend here. The sites seemed to vary a lot. We had picked a specific site but when we got there were told that we were in another spot. It was difficult to see where we should actually park on the site. The water hookup was so far away that I needed to buy another hose to reach it. The bathrooms weren't kept up well but were ok. Banning State Park is really close and is very nice. We also drove up to Duluth on two of the days.
We love staying here. I only rate it 4 stars due to there being no hiking or biking close by and the sites are sort of close. They keep the resort very clean and the grass is well kept. There is plenty to do at the resort and they offer a lot of free things like kayaks and bikes for kids.
We stayed here for a weekend to try out our new camper someplace close to home. The park was nice and clean. The campground host came over and introduced himself and let us know he had firewood and could get ice if we needed it. There isn't much to do aside from some hiking and that's mostly grassy field area. If you are looking for a nice place to kick up and relax this is a good one.
We stayed here Memorial Day weekend and it was their first weekend open. The sites are very large and it is nicely wooded. They have a few areas where the sites are more in the open but not many. The owners are very nice and were great to work with. They even delivered firewood to our site. The pool wasn't ready yet but it is very large. We look forward to staying here again.
