Didn’t happen.

Road was closed to the actual marked area. There was another campsite right before the road with a fire pit if you follow the directions.(recommend heading across to Scoria pit instead.)

There was a large beautiful herd of feral horses bedding down with their little ones here in the evening though!

Hot showers baby!

We’ve been dispersed camping a majority of our travels but my bride saw that they had free Showers there so we made a change of plans.

The campsite is right off of the highways and easy to find. (Do not recommend buffalo gap rd south of the 94 in wet seasons unless you enjoy putting your white knuckling 4 low to use)

The sites are all asphalt and offer a decent amount of privacy!

Showers were great as well as the flushing toilettes.

Really close to Medora and TRNP

Camp host was incredibly nice/friendly.

Would stay again if ever back up that way.

Space with a view

There are a decent number of spots to choose from out here. The top area did have a couple strands of barbed wire blocking it this trip so we stayed in the lower area. But had A TON of space to ourselves. Our closest “neighbors” were about 100 yards away in either direction.

Great views were just a short walk from where we set up camp.

We are rocking a 4runner with a RTT and had no problems getting around. Saw some travel trailers, RVs and fifth wheels towards the front as well so moderately accessible but personally would risk going far back in something big. There are some tight turns/uneven terrain towards the top.

Really quiet area for the most part and extremely peaceful.

1 night stay

Very peaceful location and almost all “primitive” camping spots are right along the water. Did see about 5 trailers there as well and saw two spots with electricity.

The “primitive” spots were well maintained and a lot of them had fire pits and tables as well as left over firewood. They were all well shaded as well.

There are two outhouse style bathrooms, a swing set, merry-go-round and monkey bars.

Great place for young kiddos.

Signs posted stated free camping for up to 14 days.

We stayed at the last spot at the end of the road and didn’t have a single neighbor so it was nice and secluded.

There is an integrity stand where you can buy bundles of wood for $5.
