Nice place with decent people around. Mostly quiet campers except that one family we all know. Good bird-watching in the morning. Stream and faucets nearby. Good campground.
The campsite is easily accessible, but was full of mosquitos evening and morning. The water is quite far, we didn't find it from the campground. The soil is hard and it is hot there even at night if temperatures are high. I'd avoid it if possible.
But with the right equipment this is a quiet place and it's free.
One of the best campgrounds we've stayed at. Water nearby, no flies or mosquitoes, good distance to other sites and nature all around. Take spot #8, if available. It is the best. We even had a deer family visiting. Oh, and the campfire events on weekends are good. Fine effort by the rangers. Great hiking without the crowds of Sequoia.
