Nice, quiet CG for our overnight stay. Plenty of amenities and shade trees.
Located off the frontage road of I-20. Road noise was not a bother.
The staff is friendly and helpful. They even guide you to your camp spot.
Level concrete camp spots. The FHUs were in good working order.
We would stay here again for even more than a day.
Okay CG for our overnight stay. Level gravel spots. FHUs were in good order. Road noise from I-20 - not a bother for us. Rec center across the street is noisy for 10-15 minutes at night when it closes. And, there's a lot of traffic first thing in the morning. We would stay here again for an overnight.
Nice CG for our overnight stay. Plenty of amenities. Guy in the office was very helpful. Level gravel spots, FHUs were in good order. Road noise from I-10 and trains on the Southrn Pacific - not a bother for us. We would stay here again.
We spent 5-nights here (July 1-6, 2022). Ponderosa is a reasonably quiet (“home improvement” construction next door to us), adult oriented, RV park in the pines(we had apple trees) of Pinetop. I wouldn’t call Ponderosa a RV Resort as it’s more a trailer park with the vast majority of occupants being long term tenants. It is a relatively easy access CG with back-in and pull through (8?) gravel sites. It is a good base camp to visit the area. There are plenty local attractions: lakes, rivers and streams, wilderness and national forests. Activities include: fishing, biking (wish I brought my mtn bike), hiking/walking and ATV trails. We did not make use of the laundry, bathrooms or showers. The WiFi was good as was cell phone reception. We might stay here again.
We stayed one night (May 30, 2022). The is a nice, easy access CG with large, level pull through and back in gravel sites. It is located at the I-10 and 375 interchange next to a trucking container storage facility– there is a lot of road noise and trucking activity, but no bother. The WiFi was good as was cell service. There are a number of activities available: clubhouse, indoor swimming, tennis and basketball courts, playground, horseshoes, biking and walking (within the RV park). We did not make use of the laundry, bathrooms or showers. It was convenient for an overnight stay. We would stay here again.
We stayed one night (May 29, 2022). The is a nice, easy access CG with large, level pull through and back in gravel sites. It is located right off of I-20 and next to a Love’s Travel Stop – there is a lot of road noise and trucking activity, but no bother. I added the Western Kingbird and Bullock's Oriole to my birding list here. The WiFi was good as was cell service. We did not make use of the laundry, bathrooms or showers. It was convenient for an overnight stay. We would stay here again.
We spent one night here (May 28, 2022). This is a very nice, easy access CG with level pull through and back-in gravel sites in a beautiful area. There are a number of activities available: boating, fishing (fishing pond and Lake Fork - the lake had been drained for dam repair), birding (saw my first scissor-tailed flycatcher), hunting, biking, hiking/walking. We did not make use of the bathrooms showers or laundry. It is a great base camp to visit the area. The WiFi was great as was cell phone reception. The owners, Nathan and Debbie, are terrific. We would definitely stay here again.
We spent two nights here (May 26-28, 2022). This is a decent, easy access CG with level pull through and back-in gravel sites in Memphis. It is located next to Elvis Presley’s Memphis and across the street from Graceland- it’s a busy area. There are a number of activities available: walking trail, swimming pool, playground/horse shoes (both in disrepair) and dog walk. We did not make use of the laundry, bathrooms or showers. It is a great base camp to visit everything Elvis, Beale Street (34 points of interest) and the Memphis area. The WiFi was great as was cell phone reception. We would stay here again.
We spent two nights here (May 24-26, 2022). This is a nice, easy access CG with level pull through and back-in gravel sites in Nashville. It is located within a loop of the Cumberland River, between two RV dealer/repair facilities and surrounded by two RV CGs- it’s a busy area. There are a number of activities available: live music, swimming pool, recreation hall, playground and dog park. We did not make use of the laundry, bathrooms or showers. It is a great base camp to visit the Nashville (Grand Ole Opry) area. The WiFi was great as was cell phone reception. The cable TV worked well. We would stay here again.
We spent 8-nights here (June 7-15, 2022). CTRV is a quiet, adult oriented, RV park in the pines of Alpine. This is a very nice, easy access CG with level back-in gravel sites. It is a great base camp to visit the area. There are plenty local attractions: lakes, rivers and streams, wilderness and national forests. Activities include: fishing, biking (wish I brought my mtn bike), hiking/walking and ATV trails. The elk herds out number the cattle– a morning and evening spectacle! We did not make use of the laundry, bathrooms or showers. The WiFi was good as was cell phone reception (we lost both for 2-1/2 days due to a fiber optic cable break near Show Low/Springerville).
The owners, Sherrie and Paul, are awesome! We would definitely stay here again.
(Side note: Coronado Trails Cabins is NOT affiliated with CTRV)
We spent one night here (May 23, 2022). We set up in a down pour, the office attendant offered to help with umbrellas and 2-way radios, nice guy! This is a very nice, easy access CG with level pull through(a few) and back-in gravel sites (many are backed up to the Buck Creek, it’s beautiful). There are a number of activities available: swimming, fishing, biking, hiking/walking and an RC flying field. We did not make use of the bathrooms or showers. The laundry room was clean. It is a great base camp to visit the area. The WiFi was great as was cell phone reception (we did not try the cable TV). We would definitely stay here again.
We spent three nights here (May 17-19, 2022). This is an awesome State Park CG with wide, level pull through and back-in sites.
There is a small gift shop at the main entrance. The camp store was closed during our stay. We did not make use of the laundry, bathrooms or showers.
Activities include: hiking/walking, mtn biking (three levels of difficulty– wish I brought my mtn bike), boating, fishing, swimming, equestrian, etc. The trails are excellent. The forest and lakes are absolutely amazing. There is so much to see and do.
This is the kind of park that you hate to leave. We would most definitely stay here again (and again). How fun!
We spent four nights here (May 13-17, 2022). This is a nice, well run, family oriented CG (a lot of kids on the weekend) with reasonably level pull through and back-in gravel sites (quite a few long term campers).
There are many activities available: swimming pool, recreation hall, fishing pond, biking, hiking/walking, mini golf, jumping pillow, playground, basketball, shuffleboard and more.
The office store is nice (ice cream and pizza made to order!). The laundry room was clean. We did not make use of the bathrooms or showers.
Golf carts are available for rent so there was a lot of traffic(some towing portable waste tanks).
Pay attention to the Theme Weekend Events– they will be crowded and there could be an additional fee. We were charged$20 for the Care Camp Weekend.
The cable TV and WiFi were good as was cell phone reception.
We would stay here again.
We spent one night here (May 12, 2022). This is a very nice, easy access CG with wide, spacious, and level pull through and back-in gravel sites. There are a lot of activities available: indoor swimming pool, recreation room, entertainment center, fishing pond, biking (wish I brought my bike), walking, playground, basketball, horseshoes and corn hole. It is the largest shooting center (clays, skeet, pistol, rifle, archery) in the state. We did not have time to visit the clubhouse and did not make use of the bathrooms or showers. It is a great base camp to visit the area. The WiFi was great as was cell phone reception. We would definitely stay here again.
We spent one night here (May 11, 2022). This is a very nice easy access CG with wide, spacious, and level pull through and back-in gravel sites (25 paved). There are a lot of activities available: archery, boating, fishing, dog park, biking (wish I brought my mtn bike), walking, playground, horseshoes and volleyball. We did not have time to visit the clubhouse and did not make use of the bathrooms or showers. It is a great base camp to visit the area. The WiFi was great as was cell phone reception. We would definitely stay here again.
We stayed one night (May 9, 2022) after being re-directed from Santa Rosa CG due to a forest fire. We called ahead and were able to reserve a spot. The CG is easy to access with large, level, pull through gravel sites. The WiFi was really good as was cell service. We did not have time to visit the office, store, laundry or showers. This was a great over night stay and we would definitely stay here again.
Thank you goes to management for reserving us a site with less than an hour notice!
We spent one night here (May 10, 2022). It was a nice CG for our cross country trip needs. There was one other camper (long term). The CG is all grass with a gravel entry/exit road. We had our pick of back-in sites or pull through– we chose a back-in. We did not have time to visit the office, clubhouse or showers. The CG is next to a rest stop on the west side and farm fields to the south and east. There is traffic noise from Hwy 50, but no bother. Cell phone reception was great.
Thank you goes to the management for allowing us to use our credit card for one night. Cash or check is preferred for short stays.
We intended on staying one night in the Santa Rosa Campground (May 9, 2022) – we were on the road, an hour away from arrival. However, due to a forest fire directly west of the CG, the office called us to inform us that they were under a “be prepared to evacuate” order and they were canceling our reservation (payments are non refundable, they did not charge us!). The office gave us the option of staying the night (fill out an after hours permit) if the fire was brought under control or move on to another CG. We elected to move on and reserved a spot further down the road.
Thank you Santa Rosa, kudos to you, we greatly appreciate your graciousness and forethought!
