Great place to camp and boat! the water is excellent in the mornings. just like glass! The sound of the trains stopping and going in the middle of the night is interesting. Close to Biggs and Goldendale so you can get supplies if needed.
This is a primitive campground: No running water for toilets and no showers.
The Clackamas River runs close by so swimming and fishing is plentyful. There’s also a great area for shooting not too far away up the hill.
We do an annual trip here every Father’s Day weekend. Close to the river, plenty of fishing and swimming. The trees are nice. This is an Army Corp of Engineers campground so some federal rules apply: no firearms, no alcohol(at least not openly)
The only issue we have is the sprinklers come on Friday nights and wash the tents for us. it’s good and bad.
