This area is easily accessible but can be packed during prime camping season! There is a beautiful waterfall about a mile down trail from camp and tons of great swimming areas!
This area will speak for itself once you arrive. It’s very peaceful and calming, beautiful hikes, pretty nature, and great memories! I’ve been here every year since I was 16 and I will continue to return!
I grew up here in the mountains outside of Chatsworth and I’ve walked around this lake like a 100 times, and I never get tired of it! Most definitely a great place to find solace!
Man was this area beautiful! We travelled from Tennessee to find some wonderful back country primitive camping and man did we find it. Beautiful area right by the creek (found natural turquoise) with plenty of wildlife like goats, deer, rabbits, and many other things. This area is inhabited by a few homeless people but none the less it was a great area!
This area is beautiful almost all times of the year! Plenty of wildlife and lots of shady areas. Alcohol is allowed in designated camping areas. Only saw one other camper on our trip this weekend so it was very peaceful. There was no accessible water near by so make sure you bring your own provisions. Haven’t got to explore much around the area by hiking. Found a nice creek a few miles on down the road. Other then that, great area and will most definitely be back soon!
