Good state park

A nice park tucked away on lake Chickamauga on Tennessee River. We had three days and nights at the campground. It is a busy campground but still offers a relaxing time. We saw wildlife everyday. We kayaked two days- weekdays are better for kayaking as there are not as many boats on the water. First time in a camper and we had a wonderful experience.

Great views

We had a two day primitive camping trip at site P109. Nicely shaded site. Water spigot between out site and P107. It had stone fire rings. No picnic grill. Only problem for me was very rocky terrain. The primitive campgrounds only have toilets, if you want a shower you will have to purchase a shower pass for improved campground bath house. Looking at surrounding sites I believe P108 and P120would have been great sites. P108 for a great sunset and P120 for a great sunrise. We stayed in Cabin 3 next two nights. Cabins 1-4 &16 are in one area and provide the best views. For a great sunset view from your patio while cooking out or just chilling, choose cabin 1. There are lots of hiking trails and 3 waterfalls in the park. There is a rich history with the Civilian Conservation Corps here and if you want to learn more there is a quest that begins at the store and takes you around the park. The CCC built the observation bunk house, the custodian cabin and garage, the water reservoir, several cabins, Cheaha lake and the bath house at the lake. All built by hand in the 1930s. An amazing place with amazing views and an amazing history.

Nice campground

We stayed at spot twenty. As mentioned in another review, the terrain is uneven but the pads are level asphalt. It is a busy campground but it is still quiet. There a few bathhouses and one has laundry machines. The rest rooms are clean every morning and are well taken care of ( some of the cleanest I have seen so far). There is a 65 acre lake with bass, bream, and catfish. Talk with the park rangers, the fish are finicky. They have a small water park for the kids and two pavilions. Great campground.

Table Rock State Park SC

This was my first time staying at the park, but second visit. This is one of the most beautiful places on earth. It isn’t as busy as the Smokies and I find myself more at rest here. The park has good to excellent facilities and is well maintained. In the park, you can swim, hike, camp, fish and kayak. You will see some excellent views of the mountain ranges. We saw deer, squirrels, birds, snakes, and many salamanders. There are many waterfalls in the area and many places to hike. There are a couple of small towns not far away and Greenville isn’t a long drive. If you like to hike there are two strenuous hikes in the park from 4-8 miles long and steep climbs that offer breathtaking views.

Great place on the coast

Oct 2-4, 2020. Little late with this review. Nice quiet little place on the coast. Right on Davis Bayou. They’re is a nice public boat ramp in the park. The pads are asphalt. Most spots are shaded some part of the day. The sites have electric and water and there is a dump station next to bath house. The bath house is nice and clean. The staff is friendly and helpful. There are lots of activities nearby. We spent a day on kayaks exploring the smaller bayous. Beautiful place that we will return to.

Quite campground on the river

Quite little campground on the Chunky River. Electric and water hook ups at each site. Family oriented. Friendly staff. Bath house on site. Boat ramp for river access. Great for kayaking.

Quaint little spot

Located near the upper end of the Ross Barnett Reservoir. This site is not on the Reservoir. It is 1/2 to 1 mile from the water. It does have full water, electric and waste water hook ups. Sites range from full sun to full shade. The is a lake at the site that does have fish in it. The place is maintained pretty good and does have washer and dryers on site. The bath houses were closed when I stayed there. You must make reservations prior to arriving. You will need a code to open the gate.

Nice campground

Nice campground on the western shore of Lake Okatibbee in Lauderdale Co, MS. Lots of sites right on the lake. There are three loops in the campground. Two loops have electric (50amp) and water hook ups. There are no waste hook ups due to the possible flooding of the campgrounds on occasions. There is a dump site at the camp grounds. One of the loops has no electric or water hook ups. There is one bath house with stainless fixtures that is fairly maintained. Make your reservations online at Recreation.gov before you go. We went to bed with the frogs croaking and awakened with the birds chirping. Nice campgrounds. Great access to the lake. Lots of shady spots also.

Tent camping

Basic tent camping not far from water on Lake Okatibbee in Lauderdale Co, MS. This place is no reservations, first come first served. There are no showers but there is a pit toilet. The grounds are kept up pretty good there is a picnic grill and a fire ring. It is only 10$ and uses the honor system.

RV park

RV campgrounds on Lake Okatibbee in Lauderdale County, MS. The pads are asphalt and have electric, water, and sewer connections. They also have picnic table in good shape and a steel picnic grill. This is not a fancy park, but it is decent. It has a bath house- restroom and showers. It also has washer and dryers. The bath house is in pretty good shape- they keep it fairly clean. The staff is very nice. Most of the pads are in the woods with a few pads overlooking the water- none are on the water. We tent camp, but there are no primitive sites here. There are a few cabins that are closer to the water. This is a place we will come back and stay.

Convenient location

Tucked away in quiet town of Townsend TN on Hwy 73, the campground has tent sites and RV hookups. There are toilets and a shower for each restroom. The restrooms were clean and plenty of hot water. It is just off the main hwy and there is plenty of traffic noises, but that dies down at night and you wake up to the birds chirping and the sound of the nearby stream. Staff is friendly. Had an enjoyable stay
