This area is super cool because each site has a walkway connecting each site to each other. It was awesome being able to have a large group camp out, but also have everyone in their own space!
The campsites were close together but the amazing views and the closeness to the water made up for it. We stayed here a night before rafting and fishing on the river, and it was a great choice because we drove just a couple of minutes from the site right to the docks to start fishing and rafting!
Had an awesome time camping out at the bottom of Horseshoe Bend! It was somewhat weird having people always taking pictures and looking down at the camp a couple hundred feet up, but they were so far away that we got used to it. Lots of different dispersed sites and open spaces for larger groups!
This site was close enough to the city while being far enough away to enjoy the surrounding nature. For the coordinates given, this site does have a short stretch of road that may need a vehicle with higher clearance, just a heads up. There is a nice fire ring and a place to park 2-3 cars max.
This site is great for large groups because it is far enough away from other sites and has sites 10/11 right by each other so you can get a fairly large group in if you’d like! Lots of open space and 2 fire rings for the 2 different sites.
We got to drive straight up to the cliff-face and camp out for the night. We woke up to an amazing view and it was just a great view over Sedona and the beautiful landscape!
Had an awesome time camping with some fellow Overlander's! Plenty of campsites with lots of trees for hammocks, and plenty of ground space for tents and cars. Nice fire rings are available, water spouts, as well as portable bathrooms right near the campsite. The campsites are surrounded by trees, but it can be windy.
After the 10+ mile hike-in, it was awesome to see the campsites right by the Havasupai falls as well as Mooney Falls. The site had a lot of squirrels, so bring rat sacks because squirrels will eat everything. Also, make sure to keep food outside of the tents because of the squirrels. Plenty of sites to choose from, with some trees for hammocks. Bring a swimsuit so that you can swim in one of the pools right by the waterfalls!
We found a dispersed campsite right of Senator Hwy in Prescott AZ by Wolf Creek. It was somewhat difficult to get to, but it is possible in a 4x4 and good ground clearance. There were nice fire rings already made and plenty of space for multiple tents if wanted! Plenty of trees for hammocks and plenty of ground space for tents.
Went climbing out at the Pit in Flagstaff for the day, then we came and camped out not too far away! The site had plenty of trees for hammocks, as well as tent sites. It was easy to access for not just 4x4 vehicles and was a nice and quick drive from the main road.
Had a great night after backpacking 12 miles the first day. We found a perfect site right by the trail and were able to sleep under the stars in hammocks and even on just the ground without a tent. The area has so many trees to hammock from and provides plenty of wind-blocking so it doesn't get terribly chilly from the wind.
We stayed at Lone Rock Campground right by Lake Powell and Page. This campsite was on the sand by the lake and it was a great spot. In some areas the sand I deep so it is easy to get stuck if you aren't prepared with a 4-wheel drive vehicle or recovery boards. The van we took did get stuck, but we were able to get out easily with shovels and some pushing/recovery board use. It is a large open area so there can be large winds and but it was a great spot.
We stayed in the large-group campsites, and it was very nice with plenty of space for our group. We were able to have a nice fire and were only a few minutes from the Grand Canyon where we got to take sunset photos.
I was able to hike up this mountain near St. George and it was quite amazing! We got good pictures over the town and it was a great leadup to Zion. Very easy access to hike.
I have gone out to Prescott national forest for some hammock camping many times and it has always been an amazing night! I have also gone tent camping out in Prescott and it is also great!
It hasThis is another great group camp ground area. I have camped as well as particpated in events hosted here at this campground. It has beautiful cabins and a large eating space.
My church took my youth group from my church to this campground plenty of times, and it is a great place to hold groups from 5-30. Multiple cabins, various sizes.
I have camped out here in various locations, and it is absoluetly beautiful. I love to hammock camp, and that is what I normally do when I go camping.
This is a good hike. It has some great views of Prescott and the surrounding area. I didn't get any pictures while on the hike itself, but I got some on Senator Highway.
Had a blast driving up to Prescott for the weekend with friends, and we got lucky that we got to have a fire since Prescott has had a lot of fire problems.
