Sick

I love the Allagash and this is a great spot to stop along the way. Primitive as you want and unreal scenery and wildlife. You can’t beat it.

Great views! lil busy.

I’ve stayed at the Big eddy many times over the years. It’s always a reliable, clean, and friendly place when I’m up north. It does get a bit busy in the summer with rafters and around holiday weekends. But off-season is always a great time to go. Never had a bad stay at big eddy. Also no cryin!

Great spot for families!

Stayed here for one night cause it was close to home. Testing out some new gear. More of a RV type campground but there are a handful of tent sites down on the lake. The lake is beautiful and there is plenty of wildlife and fishing. They rent canoes and kayaks I’m pretty sure and there is a swimming area (you have to pay in the summer?) there is also an indoor pool that I did not use but looked nice. The staff is super friendly and very accommodating! Prices are about what you see at any other campground. But if you are looking for a more secluded camp spot this is probably not the place.

Cool spot

This is a great backcountry spot! But you will need a vehicle with 4x4 and decent ground clearance. The road in takes you down atv trails and there is a hill that has a very steep incline that’s pretty washed out. Very easy to bottom out of you don’t know what you’re doing. I did it in a lifted Silverado but I recommend overland/jeep style vehicles as the rocks are big for Maine and you can easily damage your vehicle. Site itself is gorgeous with beautiful scenery and lots of wildlife.
