A nice primitive campground - good for a quick trip away. The campground is a county run one that works on a first come first serve basis, which is fine if there are others close by. They are wooded sites and have 2 loops. There is no store, but there a places close to get supplies. The park is dry, no alcohol. No hook ups either. There is an old mansion that gives tours on weekends.
We go here a lot because we are local, and since it’s so close, it’s nice for a shake down trip of new equipment. The facilities are clean, and the grounds are well kept. They have activities like mini golf, pedal carts, jump pillow and a pool. Being on the Brandywine, you can fish and rent canoes. The river is usually very calm and good for a float. The camp store is well stocked with essentials and there is a pizza place close by that delivers. The kids alway have a good time there.
Great river front location! Could be a bit muddy depending on the river. The train does run right near all night long, but I find it soothing. Bath houses are a bit rough, hence the 4 stars. Great place to kayak tube or hang out in the river. Close to Appalachian Trail. No playground.
First, middle of summer, no big issue! Was a stopover trip on our way to Pigeon Forge. nice canmpground and pool. Very close to Natural Bridge.
Well kept campground and facilities. We’ve been there several times because it’s so close. The river sites are great but can get muddy and there is a big hill to get up and out. The pool is nice, they have a store and a playground.
Large campground, hard to navigate at night when first pulling in. Little shade, which may be an issue in the hot summer, but after summer is awesome! Level sites, some with concrete slabs. Close to the beach, restaurants and Ocean City. Nice playground and well stocked store. The only issue was if your bathroom isn’t working, they need more bath houses. They are building one that was near our site but it wasn’t open yet.
