Great tide pools, and a lot of raccoons

Across the PCH from the beach

the most expensive CA state park i've camped in, and they had a digital "iron ranger".

I love camping by the ocean!

Free camping near Lake tahoe

About 12 sites near the Big meadow trailhead. they fill fast! no water, but pit toilet, garbage, fire rings and tables

Desolation!

OK, my weekends are usually Tuesday, Wed, &Thurs, so I have less issues with crowds than others do. I've been here twice, the first time didn't see a soul. The 2nd time a couple rode through on their horses. It looks like it gets some use on the weekends.

It's about a 6 mile ride up a dirt road, it's about 20 degrees cooler than the area. no bugs!

the road is washed out so there are some "new" campsites, no water, no toilets. no table etc

great summer fun

there is good fishing' at silver lake, but the highlight of camping here is the potholes. The river carved some unusual holes in the granite. great escape from the heat

paradise

Great beach camping, Roosevelt elk wandering around. Giant redwoods

Gold Panning on the river

Bring Water!

One of my favorite summer spots, great Access to the American River. Site has pit toilets, fire rings, tables and bear lockers(have seen several bears)
