Great little state park just off I-10 in North Florida. Only 30 sites and all are FHU. It’s in the middle of a pine forest so not much vegetation between sites but most are fully shaded with the tree cover. Our site #10 had sewer hook up at the edge of the road so difficult to use but we made it work before we left. The booking site says sites are gravel but they are actually for, so be sure to bring a mat and broom. Bathhouse was SPOTLESS and had 3 showers and 4 stalls each. Great water pressure and plenty of hot water, plus a separate changing area and bench in the shower stall. Trails were in good shape and the scenery along the river was beautiful! Rangers and volunteers were wonderful.
Wonderful state campground on St George Island! Our site had plenty of space for our 24’ TT and vehicle and backed up to the scrub grass and pine forest. Scrub foliage between our neighbors so enough privacy to enjoy the patio. Some sites were much deeper than others (higher numbers along the back line) so check the site details to make sure your equipment will fit. Sites 9 and 10 were basically buddy sites as there was NOTHING between the two sites so great if you are traveling in a group. No laundry on site but available in town. Two bath houses and they were the only reason I didn’t give 5 stars. While always stocked, they were constantly dirty no matter what time of day or which one we visited. It looks like there is a drainage issue with the original showers as the floors were always wet in the stalls. Showers had great water pressure and plenty of hot water so we made it work. Loved the recycling bins located around the park (aluminum and propane tanks)! Several wonderful hiking trails and easy beach access. The park facilities along the beach were incredible, with spotless bathrooms and covered picnic tables.
What a sweet little campground! Small loop of 32 sites. Plenty of space between sites, although with the hurricane there was very little foliage. We had perfect weather but as it gets warmer you will need the awning and AC. The sites were set up at a 90° angle from the street so very very difficult for anything but tiny rigs to back into on the first try, but we eventually got there with our 24’ trailer. All the sites have FHU but some have an odd placement for the sewer (ours was at the very front of the site by the curb) so either bring long hoses or plan to pull forward and pull the tanks on the way out. Bathhouse was clean and had a great shower and dressing set up with wonderful water pressure. Rangers and hosts were friendly, and there are lots of trails to hike including several right across from the campground with more trailheads at the park Visitors Center. Saw deer and bunnies and heard owls at night! All in all a quaint and QUIET park to relax in nature.
Had a nice weekend at this small state park. The site was very clean with fire pit, picnic table, and full hook ups including cable. The fire pit had been cleaned out before we arrived which was a nice surprise. The bathhouse was centrally located and was spotless. It included an interior wash room and was heated which was appreciated on the chilly evenings. Plenty of hot water and good water pressure. Showers also had a separate changing area with plenty of shelves and hooks to keep clothes dry. Loved the recycling on site! The sites are pretty close to each other and because it’s located in a pine forest, there’s not much privacy but enough space to enjoy the patio. We’re glad we checked it out!
This was our second trip to Seminole State Park and it was even better than the first. We had a beautiful lake view on a huge pull through site! Site was spotless, including the fire pit. Bath house was super clean and always stocked. The grounds were beautifully kept. We had fun walking the nature trail and saw signs of deer and raccoons and enjoyed listening to the birds from our site. We had a very strong cell signal and 30 OTA channels so that was a pleasant surprise. We will absolutely be back!
Sad to have to write a bad review for this park, as we typically love COE campgrounds. Not sure what the issue was but when we arrived our site had not been cleaned. Several inches of dirt on the concrete pad, part of a ripped trash bag hanging from the lantern pole, nylon cord and aluminum foil in the fire pit, and cigarette butts around the patio. We left it better than we found it. The bathroom (small but functional) was out of soap the entire weekend, although the facility was clean otherwise. The public grounds and nature trail were well kept so really I don’t know if it was an oversight on the cleaning staff or a late checkout etc.
The view from our site was spectacular and we had a wonderful time enjoying the cooler weather. We will give it another chance as several friends list it as a favorite, and hopefully we will have a cleaner site next time.
I wish I could give this park 6 stars! We camped on a quiet weekend in September and had the place mostly to ourselves. Two small bathhouses and both were spotless (I mean actually WITHOUT SPOTS, cleanest I’ve ever seen). The grounds were well kept and not a piece of trash in sight. They had aluminum can recycling which is always a plus! Tons and tons of trails, some more used than others but all well marked. History fans will enjoy the Gregory House and Civil War trail exhibit. Staff was AMAZING and super welcoming! We will be back!
As with all of the Georgia State Park , this was a nice, quiet campground. The lake was beautiful and if you’re looking for solitude, this is the place. Zero cell phone reception (honestly, zero) so if you need to connect to home plan on heading to the visitors center about a mile away for a signal. The mounds were incredible and the museum was fascinating. We hiked 2 of the 3 trails and although they were overgrown, e we saw lots of wildlife. The bathhouse was stocked but could use a deep cleansing. Worth it for the peace and quiet! The site had both a fire pit and a grill which was a plus. We will be back in a few months!
Snagged a last minute campsite at Reed Bingham for the 4th and loved it! Our loop had full hookups which was a wonderful bonus. Love the cable for evening wind down. The site was clean and backed up to the woods with huge oaks and plenty of shade. Plenty of space between sites so even though it was full, we had lots of privacy. We will be back!
What a gem of a state park! Late arrival and they had everything ready for us including maps and passes. Site was spotless, including a clean fire pit. Our site 29 had plenty of foliage around and had lots of privacy. Bathhouse was very clean and had 4 showers with super hot water and dressing areas. Plenty of sinks and stalls and always stocked. The small hiking trails were beautiful and led to a fun raised boardwalk over a marshy forest! Lots of critters scurrying about and joyful bird sounds created a relaxing weekend. Will absolutely return!
Quiet and peaceful COE campground on Lake Eufala. Our site was on Pirates Cove loop, right on the lake. We had water views from both sides of the site, and thick forest on a third side. We arrived after a rain storm and the site had not been cleaned since the last campers, but it only took a few minutes for us to tidy up. Our loop did not have a bathhouse but is between the 2 other ones, 4 minutes walk so not a big deal. Bathhouse was spotless with hot showers and great water pressure. There are more birds than we can count and a beautiful variety of trees and plants. Phone service is adequate for calls and sending pics but tv antenna could not pick up any OTA stations, and that’s ok. We sat out by the campfire and enjoyed the peace and quiet. Overall a great place!
Incredible views at a great state park! Stayed three nights over Easter Weekend in the East Rim. The East Rim is located on the main park road and about 5 minutes walk from the Trail Heads. Your camper is on display for all the day trippers but TOTALLY WORTH IT for the majestic views! Your afternoon stroll includes 2 waterfalls, multiple overlooks, woodlands, and gorgeous canyons. We drove over to the West Rim and it was much more woodsy and secluded, but we were there for the walking so did not mind the activity and open sites of the East Rim.
Bathhouse was tidy, stocked, and heated. Could use a deep cleaning, but nothing that was unsanitary. Super hot showers! Washing machine had been removed but did have a sink to hand-wash and a dryer. Each bathhouse in the West Rim was supposed to have laundry as well so could drive over if necessary.
Our site did have plastic and debris scattered around including inside the fire pit, so we left it cleaner than we found it.
Loved the fact that they had aluminum recycling!
The surroundings absolutely deserve 5 stars, just docking one for the trash left at the site. Will be back to tackle more of the trails!
Stayed 3 nights in mid-March. Very convenient to Savannah as well as SC border. Plenty of shopping and stores (Target, Lowe’s etc) within 15 minutes. Three clean and well stocked bathhouses with hot hot showers and laundry in each. Very quiet campground while we were there during the week.
Pros… Beautiful natural surroundings Several nature trails with historic markers 2 dump stations Central trash (no recycling) All sites are large, some are MASSIVE
Cons… Our site could use a good cleaning, bits of trash scattered around and needs gravel refresh.
Booking site advertised cable but none at our site (perhaps the premium FHU pull throughs did?)
Hookups for back in sites are very close to the road so be mindful that you might need extended cords if you want to get further into the area.
We love to support the State Parks so happily paid the $45 a night.
Wonderful state park in South Georgia! Our site was on the water and had beautiful sunset views. Newly renovated after Hurricane Michael, the upper loop had new gravel pads and plenty of space between sites. Great fire pit and grill combo along with a large and sturdy picnic table. The hiking trail just reopened and was an easy 2 miles. Tons of animal tracks to look for and identify! The playground close to the camping loop is nearly complete and looks super fun for the Littles. Bathhouse was brand new and showers were hot. Definitely coming back!
Wonderful State Park in southern Georgia! Chose our site from the pictures and it was perfect. Sites in lower loop one were spaced out and the back in sites were tucked into the woods, just the way we had hoped. Most sites are gravel and ours was well maintained and level, with a new large picnic table and fire pit with grill cover. The basic cable was a bonus! Restrooms were older but clean and well stocked. The upper loop 2 had a brand new bath house, and both had laundry facilities. The park itself has TONS of open green space! Great quiet weekend getaway.
Camped 2 nights over the long weekend. The campground was nearly full but our site in the lower loop was quiet and tucked into the woods. Our site was concrete but most were not, so very lucky. Bathhouse was clean and had plenty of space, even with the packed sites. Trails were well maintained and we took a beautiful walk to the beach! Only wish was that the path to the bath house would have been better lit, but that’s part of being in nature so we just brought flashlights after sunset. Cable at site was an unexpected treat for winding down in the evening!
A perfect spot for our first adventure! Site was level and spotless. We chose one based on the maps/pics and it did not disappoint. Ours had a deck instead of the gravel picnic area and it was perfect! Fire pit, clean grill, solid picnic table all included. NBC and CBS for sports via the antenna. Bathrooms were pristine! Gorgeous views of the lake and late fall foliage. Hosts were great and offered help with anything we were unsure of. Definitely a winner!
