Great spot!

The falls are really special. This lower elevation spot is a great less crowded spot to escape to. A real gem. Maintained by the AMC and staffed in the summer season.

She is Beauty She is Grace

An amazing spot. Pretty remote and all the better for it. Similar to other AMC sites… check out their for current info.

Mountain Luxury

Expensive but incredible. Great food and cozy bunks. Bunks are in shared bunk rooms. Best to have a reservation, especially in July. Croo is wonderful. Overall great stay, huts make it easy to light the trip load. But no pets allowed in hut.

Busy and Beautiful

Sweet spot for tenting. Has clean outhouse, bear boxes and sturdy platforms. can get crowded on weekends or holidays so try and get their on the early side. Excellent spot to access Franconia ridge or the Pemi. Do check in with caretaker before you claim your spot and be sure to keep all dogs leashed unless told otherwise by caretake.

Overall one of my favorite spots in the Whites!

Beautiful Pond Front Tenting + Shelter

Really special spot. Beautiful sunset over the pond. Pond can be pretty buggy with black flies, particularly in June, but that's to be expected. 3 mile hike in from Ripley Falls parking lot, a nice spur trail to a water fall to explore on the hike up or down. Can get busy in the peak season (july), but the caretaker always finds room for all visitors! The shelter is right at the front of the site and can fit maybe 12… maybe more if it had to. Site also has some good hammock spots, but ask caretaker where to string up.

Great trip for the whole family!

Nice 2.7 mile hike in from the AMC highland center. Stopped at Gibbs Falls on the way up. Tentsite is 0.8 from the summit of mount Pierce and 1.6 from mount Jackson summit, so great base camp location. Site has composting toilet for bathroom, very clean! There is a spring that runs past the site that service as the sites water source. There is a ten dollar fee per person per night, no reservation needed. I stayed with a group of four and our two dogs. Dogs are allowed, but must be on leash if they are not well trained. Caretaker was friendly and helpful, gave us great advice for our hike. This is a great spot!
