Great place for kids

Lots to do for kids here. Facebook page for campground tells you what the little bar/ restaurant is serving. We went for pizza night (frozen, but priced right and I didn't have to cook!) The restaurant nearby though… phenomenal (Margherita Grill). Our site was on the main drag in and so quite busy. Sites on the water looked amazing! A local tour guide picked us up right at the marina to go swim with the manatees (Manatee Tours and More with Captain Anna… excellent)

Convenient location

We had a wedding to attend in Clearwater and this was the closest park. Mostly long term and residential campers. Very friendly and very helpful to us during our short stay. Kids loved the pool, but playground needs updating. It is a place to stay, but not a destination in itself.

Favorite campground on our 2 week trip

Loved everything about this place, except our sewer drain was too high. Use the dump station instead. Boardwalk through swamp is amazing. Wildlife incredibly friendly. We had deer and raccoon walking through our site in the evening. Kids loved biking around, getting oranges out of trees, playground, more. Kayak rentals on site.

Under new management

Older reviews here were for Arrowhead Campground. New name and new management (or ownership?) We spent the first 3 nights of our Florida trip here (February 2020). Kids enjoyed the pool (polar plunge), the basketball hoop and the docks at the pond. Bathroom is nice. Staff very friendly and helpful. They are making improvements. Convenient to Florida Caverns while the park's campground is closed. We also visited Bellamy Bridge.

Great campground with lots to do in park

We stayed here for Camp-o-ween. Campers really got into decorating for the trick or treaters. Lots of fun activities planned by the park in the campground and around the park. Lots of variety in the sites for tent and RV campers.

Waterfront camping

Gorgeous sites, many right on the water. We saw huge paddlefish jumping out of the water, many birds and deer on the nature trail. Bring fishing poles. Staff super friendly. Would get five stars but the ants really are bad. It's a southern campground thing apparently. Be prepared and you'll be fine. Walk-in sites really nice and trail is flat and will accommodate wagon for hauling gear easily.
