No frills camping for one overnight is exactly what we needed, and what we got. Bathhouse itself was nice and clean, but needed a little maintenance, at least on the women’s side. No playground or amenities besides the bathhouse and laundry. Some kids fishing at the pond were catching small fish. Right off of I-80, next to a large Pilot truck stop with Subway.
Pulled in at 9:15pm, pulled out at 5:15am the next morning. The woman running the campground was helpful on the phone when we called a couple hours earlier, and had our pull through spot ready to go. Bathhouse was on the primitive side but very clean. The pool, playground, and gaming covered shelter were closed for the evening, but were clearly in excellent condition. Would be a great place to stay longer if we’re ever back in the area!
My kids made some of their best memories ever camping here. Lots of families, positive environment. Clean campground and park, helpful staff. Swam and paddled on Lake Michigamme for hours. Huge beach with volleyball net. Large bathhouse with private shower rooms. Huge playground. Overlook hiking trail was awesome, minus the bugs!
We needed to stay in Davenport area for the night (traveling from South Dakota to Maryland) and the reviews were high so we stopped here. Did not disappoint- very quiet, huge lot, clean and manicured, large bathhouse. Next time, we will hopefully stay for longer so we can try out the amenities!
Not far from I-70, near the river, quiet and clean… almost too quiet. Campground is full but have seen very few people (currently 2pm on a Thursday)- it’s a bummer for my kids (ages 15, 13, 9) that there don’t seem to be any other kids here their age. Otherwise no complaints; small campground but very nicely maintained. Small 5ft deep pool, very nice playground. Kids and I spent many quarters playing pool in the game room, which also has a 90’s Sega arcade game. Staff is friendly and helpful. Bathhouse is very clean and tidy, with 2 large showers per bathhouse. Very short walking trail which my husband says ‘doesn’t go anywhere’, lol. Riverside Park is very close to the campground, though.
