Meh…
I had high hopes for this place, but overall, I’m unimpressed.
The good: Park staff is very responsive. Very close to the 101 with no highway nose.
The bad: No reservations. It is first come, first served. Poison Oak EVERYWHERE. No designated pet areas. Very tightly packed with no privacy. Hot with very little shade. Bathrooms are old, outdated, full of cobwebs and dirt. Low water pressure and n the showers.
Stunning camping in a temperate rainforest. Sites are big and private. Very quite and tons of near empty trails even with a full campground on a weekend in the summer. Walking, bike, and horse trails. Close to the ten waterfall trail on the day use area.
Close to the highway, without the highway noise.
Very well maintained, clean and professional
Several off leash dog areas.
Wifi only available in a few locations.
The sites by the river are beautiful, the rest feel like a very crowded gravel parking lot. Excellent wifi and the trees are beautiful.
The sites along the River are beautiful. There is a great off leash dog area along a trail next to the river.
