East campground Electric Plus Site. Looking for the plus. No RV fill/dump station. Water spigot available. Bath house with pay showers. Daily entry fee (had to purchase on internet), fill/dump station a few miles up the road to the big lake. Just not convenient. Host on site, but sign says off duty, and haven’t seen them. Several piles of dog poop on site and we didn’t bring a dog. Site does have a fire pit, picnic table and a good view of the lake. Not worth what an out of stater had to pay traveling through.
We needed a place to stop for the night and this fit the bill. Each site had a picnic table, fire pit, water, and electric. However we didn’t use any of it. We did use the showers. For a campground they were clean enough. Shower was roomy, with hooks on the wall and a bench. Better than some campgrounds we’ve stayed at.
Campground can be crowded when the fishing is good. I rated it on the fishing. We have to park our camper in the primitive section because so many people are there. We run off of solar. The ladies bathroom has a toilet that runs continuously and the showers are so hot that you can get burnt. I have not had the opportunity to camp since the shower was reported to know if it has been fixed.
This was our first trip to Reelfoot Lake. We wanted to be close to the lake when we made our reservation so we picked this site because it was available for the days we were able to go. After arriving we felt like we had the best spot for sitting and looking out over the lake. It was only available for two days but it worked for us. The area was clean, but more people for a Wednesday/Thursday then expected. The bathroom was also very tidy with great water pressure and temperature.
