Of the eight National Parks I visited on my month long roadtrip, Grand Teton was my favorite. Gros Ventre is a great location to explore the park, particularly the southern half (Moose and Jackson, WY).

There is next to no privacy - the campground is in the middle of a few cottonwood trees and lots of scrub brush. Bathrooms were clean, staff was incredibly friendly.

Mormon Row is less than five minutes away by car if you want a great place to watch the sunrise! Craft beer could be found in Moose where there's a roof top bar.

I reserved well in advance, but got a site with electric and water, though I didn't really need either. Well shaded with tall pine trees kept things cool even in mid-september.

Nice sites. Clean bathrooms. Easy lake access all around the peninsula.

The sites stay busy - I witnessed a group of teenagers show up late at night, start a major bonfire and then leave first thing in the morning. There isn't much, if any, ranger presence to enforce noise and nuisance issues.

This campground deserves five stars. The sites were awesome, and right on the lake. The hosts were fantastic. Everyone we met was awesome.

But the showers were disgusting - not because they weren't clean, but because other campers used them to smoke in, since there was no smoking allowed in the campground. The thick, stale smoke made the shower facilities unusable and this was very disappointing as it was quite hot in August and a shower would have made my stay more pleasant.

Great, small campground near Highlands, NC. Private sites, nice hosts, and clean bathrooms. The temperature here in the hot summer is outstanding… it's 15-20 degrees cooler than elsewhere in the state due to high elevation.

Highly limited cell phone reception but only if you have Verizon. Five minute drive into town and you are fine though.

I stayed in site 1 which is close to the road, but surrounded by rhododendron and super private.

Nice walking trails to the state forest lake next door. Area attractions include lots of waterfalls, hiking, and creek walking.

Great sites, impeccably clean bathrooms. Park rangers are very present - they will deliver firewood bundles for a fee, and drive through the campsites frequently. The no-alcohol policy at the park is STRICTLY enforced, so be careful! Nice easy trails lead to the campground, and the State Park is full of great things to see and do.

No cell phone service, and gates to the park are locked up at 9pm so there's no getting in or out late at night.
