June 5, 2020: Trekked into Uncompahgre and planted Taco the Tiger Moth onto a beautiful land of green grass. We only had a few hours to check out our surroundings and the creek nearby, and then the storm rolled in. Thankfully, we had Taco the Tiger Moth to keep us dry, but unfortunately we didn’t have time to experience anymore than the creek and the land around us where we planted ourselves for the day and night. We ended up staying inside most of the night and early morning because of the storm.
I give it 5 stars because of the location, the untouched wilderness, and the peaceful feeling we felt. Be free and wild.
P.S. The morning we left here we ate at a place called Camp-Bells in Ouray, CO..we highly recommend this place because of the awesome staff and delicious food. Num, num…
Stunning. This is one of the most peaceful places I’ve been to in Arizona. It’s serene, not too many people, didn’t see a motorized boat in sight, and it’s a great place to chill. We brought our kayaks here and stayed one night a few hours out into the water. There are so many random spots you can stop at to camp, and several places to explore. Guaranteed Zen.
Gorgeous and wild. Clear water to swim in, trees to hang from, and sandy beach areas to chill and relax in. I don’t want to say too much because it may give away spots that are for the people that want to get away from everything and everyone. I enjoy the outdoors in AZ because of places like this.
We camped here overnight. A hummingbird bird came and said hello during breakfast. That’s pretty much the only other living thing I saw in this area. It’s beautiful at night too. Check it!
