With a large amount of active train tracks, 24 hour concrete plant, airboat launch and loads of weekend warriors that travel from the city to camp for a couple of days, this place is the opposite of peaceful. Campground has many sites available (both reservable and first-come, first-served). Be prepared to have to pay to take showers!
My husband and I served as campground hosts for the summer of 2022 and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this peaceful little campground. There are 32 standard sites (no hookups) spaced nicely throughout the park, drinking water, boat ramp and several vault toilets. Campground is generally quiet and not too busy. Generators and UTVs are allowed.
We traveled to the Ozarks in early spring, before the park was "open" for the season and the lake was at winter pool. The park is very clean, there are multiple vault toilets and several shower houses throughout. Every site has electrical hookups and they are nicely spaced apart. There is a boat launch, tons of shoreline for fishing, and many hiking trails as well. Very close to the tourist town of Osage Beach which was great for exploring during the off-season with less crowds. Short drive to Ha-Ha Tonka State Park for awesome views and the remains of a castle! The deer that roam throughout the park are so fun to watch as they are not timid or scared off by the presence of people. We will definitely be returning when we find ourselves in this area again!
Over 300 campsites from primitive, electric w/ water and full hook ups in each area along with campstore, modern restrooms and shower houses and so many things to do: swimming, fishing, boating, boat ramps, laundry, basketball courts, archery range, playgrounds, hiking trails plus seasonal events, amphitheater and church. We visited before the busy season so lake was low and fishing sucked however and it was peaceful/quiet. I can definitely see this campground being crazy when sites are booked solid.
Campsites are decently spaced. Several “lakes” throughout campground. Park offers overnight stays in several decommissioned train caboose cars and there is a small camp store on site.
Very small campground on the edge of town (appx 20ish sites). Full hookups and all most amenities you will find at larger properties: laundry, showers, picnic tables and fire rings. Sites have decent amount of space between them. Booking online is a bit confusing but owners are very friendly and helpful.
Only stayed one night as we passed thru St. Louis. As others have mentioned, campground is mostly permanent residences. Back in sites are paved and level with additional space for vehicle parking but the property in general is mostly concrete - no green space for kids or pets. No restrooms or showers and very weak WiFi. Brand new laundry facility.
Very large private campground with full hookups and long pull thru pads to accommodate any size 5th wheel or trailer. River side sites available but can be a bit noisy with tugs going up and down river constantly but soo bad that it is unbearable. Thought it strange that there was only one very small shower house for the number of sites on the property.
Campground is owned by the Silver Slipper Casino just down the road and does not provide much in the way of amenities other than full hook ups. BUT, If you are looking for a place that puts you on the beach/ocean, then look no further. The property is very well maintained, pads are spacious, concrete and level. And the views are absolutely stunning! I would bet that during the warmer months this place and the beach are packed full so I am glad we visited when we did.
This was a stop over for us thankfully. Pads are crazy unlevel and the asphalt has worn away so they are mostly dirt/mud. Avoid the bathrooms and shower houses, they are nasty and unkept.
Staff is wonderful! Sites are large to accommodate any size rig & truck. Smaller campground with many nearby trails thru the forest. Very peaceful quiet place. Hot showers, bait shop, rentals & a little campstore as well.
Beautiful views!! Camp host was wonderful. Property is located off Hwy 65 but road traffic is not too loud. They are located 20 miles from the Branson strip but the drive is quick and it was nice to stay outside of the craziness. Will definitely return to Ozark View when we are in the area again.
If you are looking for a campground that is near all of the hiking trails and sights in and around the red river gorge this is the place to be!! Loads of amenities; clean/hot showers, playgrounds, pool, full hookups, campstore, fire rings & picnic tables at each sight and nice views. Staff was great to deal with and the WiFi/cell service if great.
This one is a tough one to rate/review. We did not have a bad experience at Lawrence Creek, in fact, John was wonderful and accommodating. It is just seems like everything else kind of falls short. Wondering if it had something to do with new owners or the time of year we visited?
The list of amenities include laundry, restrooms/showers, waterfront sites, campstore, bar/grill, campfire rings at each site and full hook ups. The bar/grill/campstore/laundry are all housed in the only building on the property with an attached patio. This seems to be the main focus of the property since there are ads for bar/grill along the road and along the river. However, the campground itself is lackluster and dull. There were also random things in random places, the extended stay or permanent residents do not pick up after their animals (found this out the hard way), and we are still unsure about showers as the best we found was a shed that had restroom signs on it and keycode locks on the doors. Kind of got the feeling like this was the place that this was a place that “roamers” frequented. All in all, I that under new ownership maybe these little items are already on the list of things to tackle. If so, what a perfect place this will be and definitely worth checking out again. Maybe John can fill us all in….
Really can’t say enough good things about Cummins Ferry. Beautiful park with loads of amenities: full hook ups, camp store, pool disc golf, fishing, hiking, fire pits at sites, river views and event organized by resort. Staff is wonderful and very helpful. Sites are a bit bigger than what you find at most rv parks. However the WiFi is pretty crappy. I’m sure this place is packed full in the summertime so booking early then would be a smart idea.
As full-time campers we stay at Mahoney quite often as it is close to the Omaha-metro and there are so many things to do within the park: swimming, golf, zip lines, arts & crafts, trails, nature, horses, etc. Huge amount of walk up sites all year long. Little Creek campground is the best place to stay for amenities: laundry, hot showers but avoid any campsite located at the bottom of the hill so you are not washed away by rain water or have a site full of mud.
Duck Creek is adorable, easy to find and every site is pull-through. The staff is great, campground is very clean. Sites next to the Hwy are a little loud but all in all, we definitely recommend!!
We arrived a lot later than we had originally intended but the camp host was still there to greet us at the entrance (wind and cold and all). She literally walked us to our spot, helped us back in and was so sweet even though it was well into the evening. The park itself is small but well kept/clean. Sites are very close to one another but very quiet. Hosts are incredibly nice and helpful. For a short stay over this place checks all the boxes for us.
RV camping at Platte River is a very new concept. Bison Campground has concrete pads with full hook ups located in a cleared area of forest on top of a hill, so there are no shade trees anywhere. Summertime would be brutal ☀️. Very clean campground but sites are very close to one another, so if you are looking for privacy this is not the place.
This park has many campgrounds located throughout the park, cabins, boat docks, beaches, showers and large campsites. Well groomed green space, playgrounds and bike trails.
