Nice park

We would love to camp here again and have a better experience. It's a nice, small park. The office has games available to borrow, there's a playground, and the river's edge is fun to explore (what little you can access). We loved how convenient the park was to other things in the area we wanted to visit.

I booked our campsite online. Looking at the map, I could see our site was close to "a" road. I didn't realize it was a very busy highway. Why they put all those campsites along a highway is just beyond me. We had 8 in our group, 6 of them being children. None of us slept well being constantly woken up by the sounds of transport trucks driving straight for us. It put a major damper on our trip.

Gorgeous lake

We swam almost all day every day we were here. The lake is beautiful, there are plenty of places to swim, and tons of shoreline to explore. The playground is very nice. The bathrooms, especially the ones by the office, are kept very clean. The nature trail is great. The only complaint I have is that our campsite didn't have a tent pad (not disclosed on the website) and it was all gravel, so we were pretty uncomfortable with only sleeping bags to lay on.

We loved it!

We stayed here for 3 nights and really enjoyed it. A few friends came with us, and between us we had 8 kids. Despite being there during the hottest part of the year, we stayed comfortable and had a great time. The swimming area is by the office/shop. There is a really lovely strip of shaded picnic tables where we spent the hottest hours of the day. The water is pretty shallow, so the littlest ones had plenty of space to play and swim without us having to worry. We caught a ton of muscles and ate them. Several in our group enjoyed them very much. Bathrooms were well kept and nice and cool. The hiking trail is beautiful. The park is about 25 minutes from any stores, but they keep their shop extremely well stocked. The ladies there were great with helping us find our way when we did need directions to Walmart, and then later to the hwy to head home. There is no wifi until you're about 15 minutes from the park.

We thoroughly enjoyed staying here and recommend it!
