We stayed here for one night before taking our camper to a local dealer to have work done.  The campground is right on the Mississippi River with great views.  The sites are somewhat small, but decent.  The only thing that took us by surprise was that we were  right in the middle of a mobile home park, which we weren't expecting.  The price was decent and the bathrooms were outdated but clean and nice to have a code to get in.

We stayed here in a camper cabin in late fall.  We were the only people in the park.  The ranger was wonderful when we called to reserve the cabin.  He made sure we had a few bundles of wood to cook dinner on in our cabin and he made sure that the cabin was open and ready for us.  We hiked in the park and saw how beautiful the scenery is.  Northern MN is amazing!

We camped in a tipi here.  All we needed to bring were sleeping bags and sleeping pads. The kids loved being in a tipi and mom & dad loved that we didn't have to set up a tent. The deck kept us off the dirt, and we were warm all night.  What a fun and unforgettable experience.  We hiked the amazing trails throughout the park and even learned about the history of the area.

This is a great campground in Mankato, MN.  The sites are huge and offer water and electric.  The shower house/bathrooms were decent - a little outdated, but not too bad.  There was also a portable toilet near our site.  We wish there was sewer, but we understand that being so close to the river this may not be possible.  We will definitely stay here again if we are in the area.

You'd never know that your neighbor is super close to you in this campground.  The sites are really private with tall trees and lots of greenery/foliage between each site.  There is a lot to explore in the park.  The bathrooms are decent - we found quite a few bugs and frogs in the bathrooms but we didn't mind.

We camped here in the fall and were the only people in the campground.  The office staff was very nice and we really enjoyed the fall colors in the park.  We didn't use the shower/bathroom facilities, but the outhouse worked just fine for our needs.

This is a very large park that is super interesting to visit and the campground was a very nice place to spend a few nights while we were in the area.  The bathrooms were clean and the campsite was in a nice location right across from the shower house/bathrooms.

We stayed in a Camper Cabin in this park in the wintertime.  It was a great experience for our kids and a fun winter camping experience for mom and dad.  The camper cabin was nice and warm and we even cooked our dinner over a fire at night.

We were in town for the annual geocachers Cache Bash. We chose this property because it had some of the best reviews and was closest to the location of the event that we were attending. The rules are terribly strict and evidently don't apply to everyone. Several people had 2 cars to a site when we were told that we could not park our 2nd vehicle onsite. We were even told how to park the one vehicle that could remain on our site. When I called to reserve we were told we wouldn't have to pay for all 4 children to stay, but when I reserved the site, I had to pay.$68/night is ridiculous for something that hasn't been updated since 1970. The pay shower was horrible: the water smelled like rotten eggs. We will be in town again, but will never stay at this campground. The only thing it has going for it was the location and it was maintained fairly well. Update the facilities if you're going to charge a premium to camp at your facility and don't be so crazy about the rules. You have to sign a piece of paper saying you understand and have read the rules. The owners seem to be control-freaks. After getting home and taking two of the children to the doctor for an illness that was caught while in the campground, we found that the smell from the hot water in the showers was actually from bacteria in the water.

This was a great small campground to stay at when we were in the area visiting Mount Rushmore and Custer State Park.  The owners are very nice and accommodating and the wolves are so cool!  The bar/restaurant area was great and the prices were very reasonable.  The shower/bathroom area was clean.  If you are looking for a great place to camp that is close to Mt. Rushmore and Custer State Park look no further.

This is a great campground in a great town.  The sites are rather small and crowded, but when we visit we spend more time in town and along the Gunflint Trail.  The bathrooms are very nice and cleaned once per day.  You are super close to Lake Superior and have access to a wonderful beach.  There are hiking trails that you can also access from the campground and you can even walk into town.  I recommend stopping at "My Sister's Place" for dinner in town and eating "World's Best Donuts" for breakfast.  This isn't a "remote" experience, but it's always a fun place to stay and the whole family loves going to Grand Marais.

This is an amazing place for families to spend time camping.  There are so many different planned activities for both the children and the adults to participate in.  The campground is always clean and the staff are extremely friendly.  The campsites are huge with plenty of room between you and your neighbors.  You can rent a golf cart to get around the campground.  They have gaga ball, a bounce pillow, an arcade, mini golf, laser tag, swimming pool, skate park, playground, basketball court, volleyball court….the list of amenities goes on and on.  The theme weeks are all fun and well planned out.  You can even order fresh baked donuts on Saturday mornings.  There are even cabins for your non-camping family and friends.  This is one of our favorite campgrounds around.
