Well traveled trails easily followed. Clean campground. Very scenic as one would expect. Local food is good a lot of small mom an pop establishments. 30/50 amp service at most if the campgrounds all have tent camping. Cell service is very spotty WiFi was the same pet friendly. Did see signs for ADA sites. Found food and supplies available found a few outfitters for camping and rafting gear
Small park restrooms and showers. Very clean. Nice pool. Camp store offers basics. Fairly close to shopping groceries etc. staff was friendly 30/50 amp service didn’t count the number of river view sites. But quite a few. Some sites have 20 X 12 elevated decks. Full hook ups. Pet friendly. Was very quiet the week we stayed. Didn’t feel like bringing the camper home so payed for another week and drive back the following week. Cell service. Isn’t the best WiFi was available if I remember. Correctly rates were reasonable
Very small campgrounds literally next to if not part of a corn field extremely cramped back if our camper was 2ft from the camper behind us and 15 ft from the campers left to right. When we left we had to knock on camper doors to ask folks to move their cars so we could pull out of out parking spot. The other campers were very nice lots of local folks they were fun to talk to. The camp site did have clean showers. Hot water. And. Clean restroom facilities. The dump station isn’t the best it is on a hill so dumping ones waste tanks completely could be a challenge The owners were polite but short The sites aren’t the best the electric is only 30 amp. And very dated they did have water hookups at each site. I didn’t take any pictures as there wasn’t anything to see at the campground other than campers packed in like sardines It is close to town and the shops. Everything closed at 5:00 including gas stations As they say any port in a storm. So as a last resort I guess it’s is okay. Just don’t plan to leave after 5:00 pm unless you have a full tank of gas. No ada camp sites. They are pet friendly
Very clean. Close to everything you need close to ferry clean showers camp monitors were friendly sites are paved. 50/30 amp hookups Our site was just a standard electric site. They do have 150 full hook up sites or more. We made our reservations late we were not really concerned about water or sewer as we planned to use the camp ground facilities anyway. Fresh water is available to fill your holding tanks. Dump stations are easily acceptable as are water filling stations Big Boopers restaurant is a great place for breakfast lunch or dinner. If you do t feel like cooking it’s about a 10 min drive. Campground has very good WiFi. We have Verizon had very good reception inland and I. The islands. Bass island is a fun day trip. Sites were level left to right. Had a slight pitch front to back.
First time we’ve been to the park since they added the “premium sites” what a joke. It’s terrible road it ungraded sites are in level the approach to the sites are terrible it was t planes out very well not well maintained. It would make a better off road park that a premium RV site. When we arrived you have to make a u turn because the ranger station you sign in it on the other side of the actual “premium sites “. The road that use to go back to the equestrian sight is no longer used. No idea why. Probably ooor planning an construction again Water hook ups are on the opposite side of electrical on several sites. They do have nice picnic tables. A fire ring. And a charcoal grill the camp grounds use to be well maintained the staff use to be helpful and friendly. Not so much now. The parks department need to do some work before I would recommend this place to anyone with a trailer or Motorhome been to worse but not much. Tent camping is better suited for this park
So most of the sites are fairly level left to right. Wound suggest bring leveling blocks the sites to the left on the main loop 65 to 73 are not the best they require more set up time the leg furthest to the left down by an old cemetery “ folks that donated property I guess” are nice easily backed into. Sites off to the right as you enter. Are again fairly level left to right. And shady for the most part. The inner loop not much shade. Bathhouses are clean. Pool was well maintained. Park staff. We’re nice The camper store Meh mainly junk food. Convenient to shopping. 20 min away. Larger box stores are about 45 min. Walmart Lowe’s. Etc. the lake offers boat rentals fishing isn’t to bad. The park is clean Safe place for campi g with children. Two it thee playgrounds. Dated but in good shape
The folks in the office are Awaome. They take you to your sight assist you with backing in the rest rooms are very clean the pool is very clean they have a boat ramp into the Kentucky river a covered dock to fish off. Of the sites are average size all had fire rings an full hook ups they have occasional activities such as. Local food at a pavilion outside vendors. The camp store /office. Has a limited supply of the basic needs. Toilet paper tank deodorizer etc. the camp host DD was great Shops an groceries are with in a 30 min drive in both directions of the camp grounds 20 min ride to local sites. Shaker village. Lots of sites. Great for those who bring motorcycles an want to tour around WiFi is fair cell reception sux but hey your camping all the outside sites are wooded an have shade inner loop no shade. But are all pull through easily accommodate large rigs
Campgrounds we’re designed for pop up campers limited sites for RVs an Travel Trailers electric was dependable water at most sites plenty of tent sites. They have some equestrian sites and one or two trails For what it is a the location it’s not a bad place. We have camped there. Many many times. Really a good campground for new campers. Close to what ever you may have forgotten or need
