Hot weather looking for a cool, on lake CG. We didn’t camp there. Thought we might but, instead just drove through. Day-use area close. Parking lot for boaters open. CG host said full; grounds not well maintained. Open sites with expired occupancy dates on them. Large groups with extra vehicles. Some sites looked like long term occupancy. Pleased there was no room. Don’t think would’ve been comfortable experience.
Looks Like this, Campground has been remodeling for years. A lot of kids won’t need a lot of work. Do you only reason we stayed was for a shower But the shower design was small and water everywhere
It’s a small well manicured campground. (Maybe 12 to 15 sites,). The fees are very fair. It has water electric, dump station, fire rings, and showers. No picnic table. Didn’t see a host so not sure how one pays. The town nearby has a Cenex gas station but few other markets. We realized we needed to put some more miles in, so didn’t camp there. But honestly, if you want an ez overnight off of KS Rte 160 and bypass the busy City of Wichita.. with quiet peaceful sites near/on a River it looked spot-on…!
Fair Pricing! A perfect one night stay for campers who need a place to stay and won’t be using the extras as they do not use a dump station or electric. If your on the road, out of state (quasi-retired aft. 65) trying to see YOUR country and not having deep pockets. Colorado not only charges you a fee to drive into their state Parks but also charge site fees for a camping site. (They should make allowances regarding out of staters & 1 night stays.) This Park was great and does that. It is level, pet friendly for ppl who travel with a pet. (We do not) Plenty hot water in the shower. Happy to have discovered them via local C’ty Rec Ctr. ALSO, really enjoyed friendly knowledgeable staff!
Called in a rainstorm looking for a site just for the night. They give no discount and also charge a fee just to drive into your site if your out of state. They were far from full. Why not make revenues and give a discount under these conditions. GS Agent sounded haughty regarding questioning the fees. Ppl like to travel but don’t always have deep pockets like the huge RV to spend esp. when just passing thru being an out of stater
Beautiful state park, very lush green from all the rain unfortunately the smoke from the Canadian fires near have made it unhealthy here. especially strenuous outdoor activities Bathrooms are clean and great showers in the wooden size of nicely spaced and level
Nice Campground very quiet due to lots of rain this year I can see where it might get crowded in the fields but there are a couple nice loops clean bathrooms great free showers in appears a great natural swimming pool was closed here because of the reins and incredible waterfall and some nice hiking trails
Nice little campground with a great view and running water, it appears that all the picnic tables firings and barbecues are brand new. Toilets are a little outdated but I’ve paid a lot more and had Vault toilets. The price is definitely right $10 per night. Watch out for ants they are everywhere
Arkansas campground coma big difference between the three campgrounds if you want flush toilets and showers but the Arkansas one feel like motorbiking is right on your doorstep and the campground host seems to keep this place a lot cleaner than the other ones
The host was great did a nice show at the amphitheater about the local area bathroom and showers are great, not to mention the nice clean river
Nice quiet state park nice sites shaded on the lake unfortunately the area has had a lot of rain and part of the park was flooded bathrooms were nice and clean
The lake is nice but if you are not on the lake the campsites are large but not cleaned from previous campers the beach was dirty bottle cans diapers the ropes to mark swimming area was on beach not on the water this is a big park over 570sites with help these days ? Too much
