Nice location, near good food and wineries and breweries, owner was very nice and welcoming. We camped with two other couples and the owner was able to accommodate us and put all three of our units together. My main complaints were the pedestals where we were were in the bushes directly behind the campers, and unfortunately for me my hookups are towards the front of my camper so I had to pull in sideways to reach the pedestal. Thankfully we only infringed on our friends site a few feet. The wifi and mobile data were atrocious, which sucked when we were trying to plan out our travels. And, lastly, there were seasonals around us with dogs that barked quite a bit throughout the night and during the day at pretty much anything that moved. We had a good time overall though.
Never been up here before, a friend found this place for our lil group. They currently have 4 sites and a cabin, 30 amp electric, water to fill your tank, and a dump station. But like I said the best part is the riding and close to several local bar/restaurants that have good food and good folks. The owners are very nice and helpful and live right close by if you have any issues.
This campground is just far enough off the highway for easy access to it's peace and quiet. It's also apparently quite large, but we couldn't tell based on our site and the space and woods around us. Plus there are caverns right on site that you can tour. There are also some awesome roads to explore on your motorcycle. We'd go back for sure!
Pluses, the staff was great, the place was clean, and the park was close to lots of stuff to do. Minuses, the sites were cramped, and trying to get in or out of the place, to do anything that was nearby, was a pain in the neck. We would probably not stay here again because of the traffic, traffic related noise, and cramped sites.
Excellent little country campground, with nice, large, level, shaded sites. Very peaceful place with an awesome owner, Craig was very attentive and seemed quite happy to help us with whatever we needed to have a great weekend. There's a huge fishing pond, and the facilities were nice and clean and well stocked, we would definitely go back!
…. Located in Rock Run Recreation park, our site (#14) was not the greatest, it had a lot of length, but no real level side room, fell downhill when exiting the camper lol. Who wants to hang out behind there camper lol, luckily there were a couple other rigs in our group that had better sites for us to hang out at. We'll be back for sure because it's convenient to ride right from your camper. They also have several other campgrounds in the park that don't have any hookups but would be nice to tent or camp with a genny. Great times with great friends
Wandering around the gorge is so beautiful and relaxing the views and sights inside the park are amazing, it's almost like another world at times. Sites were nice, the area we were in was a little too open for our liking, but in a park with this kind of scenery it was fine because we didn't spend a lot of time at the camper. We can't wait to get back and wander done more!
Not too far from home, bathrooms were a little on the rough side, park itself was ok, not overly impressed with any of it, we'll be going back again this coming season to give it a fair shake, may have just been a bad weekend.
…. But surprisingly quiet and for the most part the guests were decent, the staff was awesome, very helpful, the sites were a little on the small side and stacked a lil closer than I like, but we had a good time, some beautiful views from some beautiful motorcycle roads.
Nice state park, sites are spaced nicely, our site was huge, nice beach, swimming area, pavilions
Amazing place, can ride all your toys straight into thousands of acres of family fun, we try to get down here twice a year. Sites are spacious and most are shady. Just be aware it's a newer place so they are constantly improving it. Love Trailhead and AOAA
Our particular site was a little snug getting into but opened up nicely behind the tree line at the road. Overall very nice, roomy, wooded, private sites with a nice beach not too far from the sites
Nice campground, but a little cramped, and wasn't a fan of the sandy sites but we did love the area, and the really enjoyed the campground overall. We would definitely visit again
Excellent campground, roomy, shady sites, pool was nice and clean, nice little camp store with very nice and helpful employees. Plus the sounding area is full of amazing roads that are perfect for momma and I to carve up on our scooters
