Arrived on a Saturday evening late August with no reservations. . Pleased to find 4 park rangers at the check in gate. Multiple camp spots but enough trees/shrubs to make you feel secluded. Pros: Super quiet after hours Total darkness, perfect for stargazing Abundant wildlife (turn sound up on attached video)
Cons: No input as we only stayed for some quick zzzz’s.
Arrived on a Thursday afternoon late August. Started out looking for spots on the west side. Drove around the entire lake and found spot #3 on the east side to have the best views. Pros: Lakeside camping Decent views of bluffs Relaxing sounds of fish jumping Plethora of wild white sage
Cons: Only found one spot worthy of camping Broken glass, diapers, beer cans
Spots are first come first serve. Arrived on a Friday morning mid-June and there was only one site taken. This is a wonderful campground if you’re into star gazing as there is zero light pollution. Pros: No light pollution No loud parties Ample wildlife Camp within feet of the water Gorgeous views
Cons: One restroom facility (not horribly bad as this is a very small lake)
