Visited Christmas Meadows for a quick overnight stay with my girls. While pretty cold, it was gorgeous. Stayed in site 1 and loved it. Plenty of room and a little more secluded than other sites. We will be returning next Summer.
We stayed here for four nights in July. It was not as busy as we thought it would be. Definitely stay on the west side of the lake of these sites are available. The sites are far more spread out and quieter than on the other side of the lake.
We dropped by Diamond Fork on a trip back from Colorado. We have stayed at the campground 1-2 times each year for the last couple of years. Generally, it is a good place to stay and is close to home. However, the campground is covered with cow poop and there was a herd of cows running loose in the campground. It looked like they had been there for a week or two. All of the roads, trails and campsites had piles of poop in them. It was a bit of a disappointment and I hope they clean it up.
We took a quick weekend trip to Smith and Morehouse. It was our first time camping here and loved the camp sites. The camp hosts were so nice and went out of their way to check on us. This is a beautiful area, surrounded by aspen and pine trees. We had a spot close enough to the river that we could hear it all night long.
I came here in March and caught a streak of nice weather (60-70 degrees for the high, 30s for the low). I decided to come back and bring the family for my birthday.
Our first night was a tough one. We got caught in a severe wind storm but everything held together and besides a lack of sleep, we all survived. The next few days were awesome. Temp was in the 70s with a slight breeze.
This is an amazing place and you will never see a more beautiful night sky.
I camped here for a couple nights around mid March. The weather worked out perfectly. I loved the site I found. I could walk about 30 seconds away the the rim of the canyon.
There is a great trail west of the campsites. I walked it and road my mountain bike along it for a little while.
Absolutely stunning views and the most beautiful night skies I’ve ever seen. I’ll be returning with the family in May.
It was a short 3-4 minute walk from my site to the toilets.
