Great summmer destination

We really enjoyed our two month stay in the NC mountains. They have a fenced dog run, great creek side sites and old, old, old growth trees at our site. They have many recent upgrades including new concrete pads, upgraded bathrooms and game room. Evidently under new management as they moved the permanent sites taking up all the creek side spots so some of us temp people could enjoy the creek and have a fire. Very calm. There is entertainment booked on some weekends. Great weather!

Great State Park

A Florida State Park that reminds us of the foothills of North Carolina except for the occasional palm tree. Toured the Gregory House a cotton plantation house that was moved across the river by the CCC. We made a trip into Chattahoochee, FL for lunch and a look at the Jim Woodruff Dam where The Chattahoochee, Apalachicola and Flint Rivers converge.

Family Campground

Buddy camped next to our friends in a nice shady site. Lazy River pool and big big water slide was very refreshing after a long travel day. Had a lot of activities for families. This campground has cabin rentals, tent sites and RV camping. Also many water attractions such as a 60 foot water slide, lazy river, splash pad, Water Wars, Down Pour Derby, and zero entry swimming pool. Easy trip into historical Madison.

Great State Park

A wonderful state park. The showers and restrooms are exceptionally clean and spacious. The magnolia sites are a very short walk to the river where there are great hiking trails ranging from 1.6 mi to over 7 miles. Ichetucknee State Park and wonderful river tubing is a short drive away. There is a swimming hole at O'Leno but it was not open due to flooding. Canoe rental was not currently an option either. Not busy at all during the week in early May. O’Leno State Park where the Santa Fe River drops underground for 3 miles then comes back up at River Rise before flowing into the Suwannee River. Many of the buildings and the suspension bridge was built by the Civilian Conservation Corp.

Great Family Campsite

Very nice KOA , clean well presented , friendly staff. The lions waking you up in the morning is really pretty cool. LOTS of local channels and good internet. It's pretty far from most everything but its really the only game in town. Very peaceful and quite. Discount tickets to Lion Country Safari which is next to campground.

Easy access to the parks

Great park to stay at if going to the parks. Can even hear the nightly fireworks. Good internet, cable TV, nice pool, remodeled bathhouse with laundry facilities but does have nice big laundry area by the pool. It is a bit pricey but worth it for access to Disney.
