Pretty quiet

Our specific site was a little close to others, but not all were like that. The facilities were clean and the campground was fairly quiet. There are tons of hiking and driving trails around the area to keep yourselves occupied. The whole area is a really nice area.

Large campsite, quick hike to Bash Bish Falls

Had a couple spots right next to each other on a group trip. There are plenty of hiking trails nearby and of course, trails to Bash Bish Falls which is beautiful. It was low the first time we visited and we were able to make it to the top of the falls to go swimming and the views were incredible. The facilities were just what you needed after a long day of hiking and swimming.

close sites, but the river is so close

The sites are extremely close when down by the river, but the view is awesome. The road is right across the street but you cannot hear it at all and it is covered by the trees and sound of the rushing water. They provide bear boxes for your things. If you are lucky, you can get the sites at the end of the loop for a little more privacy. There are many other camping options not along the water that allow a little more space per campsite. It was beautiful and great having running water to fall asleep to at night. There are also a lot of hiking trails that start right here!

spread out sites, decent facilities, quiet

Went here as a large group and they accommodated us with an individual in a wheelchair and changed out sites without any issues. We were right next to the entrance for hiking trails which was convenient. The facilities are a bit of a walk, but that means it is spread out and there's plenty of room to relax and have fun. The staff could have been a bit more friendly, but maybe they had an off day. We spent the weekend here and would definitely return.

Everything about this area is beautiful. Get there early to beat the crowds and definitely go to the falls and hike up all the stairs. The waterfalls are amazing and the structures at the top are really cool. The sites are great as is the whole area.

Quiet area, close sites

This is a beautiful area. The sites are a little close but that's ok, everyone was really friendly. They had activities for everyone and we had a blast at bingo and won! There are so many things to do in the area with the farms and orchards and vineyards that it is great to get out and explore for a bit! The staff were extremely accommodating when one of our sites was flooded due to the previous days rain and moved us without any hesitation, and let us stay an extra night no hassle. The facilities were very nice and clean.

Quick beach access

It is nice being so close to the beaches here. The campground has gotten pretty strict, which is good for those looking for a quiet campground to go to. The sites are fair size and some have more privacy as others. the best quality of the campground is access to the RI beaches

Love camping on the water

We have camped on the south end of Hurd Park several times via boat access. It is amazing with the views of the CT River and being able to watch the sunrise and sunset. There's a few sites close to each other, so it is nice to go with enough people to occupy them all at once to keep it personal. You can swim and fish and relax all day!

Great family camping

I grew up staying at this campground with friends and family. There are always activities going on at the Rec Center and plenty of things to keep people entertained. The site are a little close for those who don't have permanent spots, and sometimes the lights are way to bright depending on where you are, but it is a good family campground. The staff are friendly and everything is a pretty close walk for snacks, games, the pool.

Right by the water, some privacy

We stayed here as a group of 13 after being in Northern Maine for a few days and were making our way to Acadia. We were able to get a really cool spot that let us all fit together and was secluded from others. A 2 min walk brought you right to the shoreline and we had a blast. The store had a lot of eclectic collections and we were able to browse through the shop and make some neat purchases as well as firewood. We only stayed one night, but it was nice!

Crowded at peak times

Hiking Sleeping Giant is really fun, and difficult in some sections. If you go off-season you will be better off, as during the peak season it is packed. The picnic area at the bottom was well maintained as were the trails. There are miles of trails and spectacular views at the top. Some are much more difficult than others, but easier trails are provided for all abilities. **After the tornado on 5/15/18 though, the picnic area has been completely devastated and will need a lot of maintenance to get it back to where it was.

amazing views

Went and did some hiking in early October for a birthday trip. The staff at the visitors center were very informative and were able to point us in the right direction for overnight parking and somewhat shorter hikes to shelters. The views along the drive and the hikes were amazing. The shelter was in great condition and had bear box/shelters to store your items. Once we reached the summit the next day, we were able to watch hang gliders take off which was awesome. The whole area is great.

Close sites, still nice

The sites were a little close and difficult to set up with more than one tent in our specific campsite. Went here to stay when attending a Tool concert in Manchester one summer. The facilities were close enough to the sites, but far enough away to not have the light shining into your tents. There seemed to be plenty of things to do like hike, fish, swim. Manchester is not too far for places to go out and eat at. Overall enjoyed our stay.

Fun spot

Went here with a large group of people and a few campers for a 4th of July weekend. We got the back circular field for all of us. Even though it rained, we had a blast. There are nice facilities and a pool and recreation area for the kids. We took a short walk/hike and were able to make it to a river where we floated in tubes and relaxed for the day. It was a blast and we had a great time. Everyone was friendly and the staff were accomodating.

Fun for the family

I have stayed here many times growing up, and it has begun to get very popular and crowded. I would recommend reserving early to get some of the more private campgrounds on the outskirts and near the woods or you may be in the field with everyone else. They have plenty of things at the camp store and you can't beat the couple minute walk to the beach. There is plenty of things in the area if you need to pick up any extra supplies too!

Great campground, beautiful area

I love the area around Jamaica State Park and have stayed a few times! There is plenty of trails in the area and you can go to the waterfall/rock slides and take a dip in the pools. The area is beautiful and good food across the street!

Nice setting, close to attractions

This is a nice campground that my fiance and I stayed at after a day of mountain biking at Mount Snow. It had good facilities, a few lean-to's if you were lucky enough to get them booked before they were gone, and friendly campers. We enjoyed a fun day at Mount Snow which is close by with restaurants and things to do in that area, as well as the fun town of Brattleboro in the other direction which is always a great place to visit. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout the stay.
