This campground is awesome. I pulled up in May without a reservation and found a bunch of sites to choose from! We picked one near Agate beach where we spent the morning beach combing and eating wild beach strawberries. Later we checked out the Indian village and Wedding Rock. Totally worth a second a trip!
Wildcat is the jam. On the beach. A nice mid length hike. Privacy. The only catch is everybody likes its, so book early. Other than that, it's rad!
Wanna see an epic sunset? Bring your family, and camp here. Hike to the top of the dune. Don't forget your layers, the windy is chilly! A great beach to relax on, sometimes there's surf here too.
This was once a frequent spot for me. There's a short hike in to the campground and a shorter hike to the beach where you can find a pealing right-hand cobblestone point break. On the right days this wave is epic, but usually it's more of a novelty wave that you'll have all to yourself. But that's not all, comb the beach, fish the rocks, hike the hills, whatever you fancy. First Come, First Serve… get there early.
If you own a boat, camp here! There's good fishing, water skiing and a fun family friendly campground. Dark Day is a drive up camp, but there's boat in camping available at the lake as well.
This is one of the best sites there is. There's hiking access to the river, and almost never anybody at this campground. It's scenic privacy at it's best. Hike up or downstream for some really great swimming holes.
This is an awesome spot to camp with your family. Hiking and biking trails, nature walks, showers, flush toilets, it has it all for the not so campy campers. I make a point to camp here at least one time a year on a Fall surf trip to Santa Cruz.
This is not the most adventurous spot. It's simple family car camping at it's finest. It's minutes from Oakland and Castro Valley. It's pretty noisy, and folks like to party. The best part is the fishing at the nearby lake. Bass, Trout and Catfish primarily.
This site is awesome. It's a short hike from the hostel and has running water and pit toilets. It's right at the beach so it gets windy in the summer. Fall is best. For privacy, book a site out of the meadow.
