Wonderful stay!

Loved my site- I’m a tent camper and my tent just fit on the site- I had a tent footprint and padding inside my tent so as not to damage the tent floor - the site is a paved site meant for campers but I wanted to be by the creek! The bathrooms were in great condition and the camp hosts were very friendly!

Nice & quiet & dark skies!

The campground needs some updating- there’s only one bathhouse with just 2 showers- if the campground would’ve been full, it would’ve been miserable. Also only one dumpster and it’s on the way out of the campground. BUT it’s a designated dark sky park & the stars were amazing. They also lend out telescopes. They also have nice walking trails & if you like to paddle, the river is nice & flat. There is little to no cell service.

Hershey Park Shuttle!

My friend chose this campground for the shuttle to Hershey Park. We were in site 130 which has electric & water and it’s right on the creek- very nice & quiet- the bathhouse is also near. The campground staff do a great job of keeping the grounds & buildings clean. The pools are nice & there are lifeguards. The playground is lacking. There are some annoying old fashioned rules in place, but all in all a nice place that I’d come again.

Lovely Stay!

My dog and I enjoyed 4 nights here. The sites are well spaced and the tent pad is even. The bathrooms could use an update but I was just happy they’re flush toilets! There are no showers. There is no cell service with T-Mobile. The rangers are friendly and the campground is clean. Cades Cove loop is within a short distance and I saw bears every day as well as turkey and deer.

Lovely stay!

My dog and I enjoyed 4 nights here! The sites are well spaced and the tent pad is nice and even. The bathroom could use an update but I’m happy they were flush toilets because that means no smell! There is no cell service with T-Mobile, so have a good book, downloaded shows, crossword book, or what have you. Cades Cove Loop is very close and I saw turkeys and bears every day on the loop- I heard a turkey in the campground but never saw him; also heard coyotes every night.

Well run campground!

I loved this campground. The bathrooms are clean; there were 2 in my loop. There is a main shower house for the whole campground- most people drove to it, myself included- I was in the very last loop. I’m a tent camper who booked an RV site so the site wasn’t that level for a tent but I made it work. The campground staff were very nice and on top of things. Bear boxes for each site.

Beautiful Campground

This campground is so nice! The bathrooms are old but nice- there are no showers. You can hear the river at night and you can also walk to river and cool off. The Tetons are right there. I also had a good time bird watching while there. Bear boxes are provided and I enjoyed using mine- nice to have extra space in the car while driving to places. Friendly staff and there seemed to be talks every night at the amphitheater.

Very friendly staff

I’m a tent camper- the sites are not level, my fire ring was way too small. Branches need to be cut back. And sites are crammed in there, so, hopefully you’ll have a nice neighbor. Showers need quarters. Only one main bathhouse, they have porta-potties in some areas. The hosts are very nice and there’s free coffee. They had live music, which was nice. Seemed to be a good family/kid friendly place. They accept pets. I would’ve given a higher score had the showers been free and the sites a bit better.

Choose Your Spot Carefully

So, I booked online, a lakeside electric & I thought, from looking at the website, I’d have a view of the lake- not so, I had a view of aspens. Only one working bathhouse & upon arrival I was told only cold showers. There are sites with views- I’d call & ask before booking. Staff seemed friendly- delivered firewood to my site. Learned after the fact that there is wifi at the office. This campground is between the St. Mary and Many Glacier entrances of Glacier NP.

Nice campground!

Sites are well spaced. Hot shower and you don’t have to feed it quarters! Campground host was nice enough to lend me a power cord b/c mine wouldn’t reach the tent pad.

Lovely campground

This campground is lovely! All sites have electric. The bathhouse has hot showers and is very clean. The lake is clean. The owners are very nice and helpful. I can’t recommend this campground enough.

Nice state park & facilities

Had an electric site- it was nice and level. The bathhouse was clean and nice. It rained pretty much the whole time but still had a good time. Lots of trails. Even though the park was packed it didn’t feel like it.

Wonderful Park w/ lots to do

Spent 5 days at Promised Land- we were in the Lower Lake section and had a loop and bathhouse to ourselves once the weekend was over! The camp hosts were friendly. Lots of trails to go on. Swimming at the beach. Kayak rentals. Eagle watching. Blueberry picking! Totally recommend.

Refreshing creekside sites

My campsite was on the river, which was nice, but people did come through my campsite at times b/c it was easier to get out there. The site was all gravel and shaded. The people running the camp store were lovely. I had my dog and the campground is very dog-friendly. Recommend this campground to everyone; just didn’t like the people walking thought my site at times, which is why only 4 stars. Also, the showers in the bathhouse only had hooks- no benches- and the toilets were raised for some reason. They do have a ADA bathhouse but I didn’t check it out.

Meh

The sites are okay- level, some shade- but felt like we were on top of people. The shower house needs work- no ventilation makes for a stifling shower and bathroom use. The swimming “lake” cools ya off but is pretty dirty- had to wash my suit twice to get it clean. They had a band one night we were there and it was fun listening. No active social distancing or mask wearing though (this was June 2020). Golf carts everywhere creating dust. I don’t think I’ll go back.

Bathhouse was nice and clean (August 2020)

The sites are nice but muddy; not very good drainage. The bathhouse was nice and clean. My friends and I chose this campground due to the lake- Randolph Jennings- and wanting to swim- the beach was closed due to COVID- the reason, they couldn't monitor people to social distance and wear a mask. Hiking trails around the campground were nice. Did have some noisy neighbors- loud music. Overall, meh.

Camping spot was nice and shaded (July 2020)

My friends and I camped in the small campground with a pop-up and a camper; the spots were shaded and we saw deer. The bathrooms did not have soap or toilet paper and were pretty disgusting- mold and mildew and pretty small for the amount of people within the campground; and there was poop/mud(?) on sinks and toilets- pretty gross. The lake was nice, clean and refreshing- take chairs and wear shoes- geese poop everywhere. We did not do the waterpark- it was closed for most of our stay; also seems a little pricey for what it is. Overall, it's an okay campground. Stayed in July 2020.

Enjoyed this campground!

Trap Pond is beautiful; the sites have a picnic table and a fire ring and are plentiful. The bathhouses are nice and they have a handicap accessible shower and bathroom stall- the only complaint I have about the bathhouse is that there was no fan to draw out the shower heat/humidity (we were in C loop, not sure if they’re all like this?). The staff are very friendly. Also, wouldn’t recommend buying their fire wood- not good. Trails are nice. All in all, I’d go back!

Big Campground! Lovely beach

Booked an electric/water hookup site for me and my friend, who has a camper- the site was smallish and close to other sites but still felt secluded. The beach was lovely- bit of a walk to the beach but worth it. Lots of trails if a break from the beach is needed. Bathhouse near to us was okay- could you use a revamp, but showers are private- except for the tree frog who showered with me one day. I hope to make it back to this campground!

Lovey little campground on the river

This campground is lovely. It’s on Gordon Creek which flows into the Chickahominy- able to rent kayaks, has a playground, a pool, and nesting ospreys, a bald eagle/s can be seen. Undergoing some renovations but still a nice campground. I’d go back.
