Windy but private

This place is kind of elevated and somewhat exposed but there are enough large bushes to park behind to get out of the wind. Dirt is dry so it’ll blow around but we just put a blanket down to keep most of it from bothering us while we sat outside. Perfect temperature for The tail end of May. Tons of space to choose from. Would definitely recommend. Cell service was great.

Amazing spot

Few people know you can camp right on the rim of the Grand Canyon. We used a map the backcountry info center gave us and found a spot 10 or so minutes into the woods right on the rim. Beautiful views of course and privacy. Highly recommend. It’s the first left after the general goods store headed toward the north rim. I’ve attached the map we used. If you have a Garmin it’ll show the road numbers you need to find a spot. Don’t hesitate. Do it. Regular campsite is crowded and nearly always full. Weather here was perfect.

Beautiful

We stumbled upon this site and couldn’t have been happier. We found a spot with beautiful views, no other cars in view from where we parked. Primitive but we did have decent cell service. Would recommend for sure!

Primitive but quiet

The road into our site was pretty bumpy from the excavator truck but we found a decently private spot. Only downside was all the fine sand that was kicked up in the wind. Otherwise, good location, close to arches. Would recommend. Spotty cell service.

Beautiful views

We camped in the dry lake bed area to the left of the dirt road right up by the tree line. The views were stunning. Woke up to a sleet blizzard the next morning but it didn’t bother us. Got great pictures the night before of the mountains. We saw a moose down closer to the lake when we first arrived as we were looking for a place to park. No one bothered us. Didn’t see anyone else the whole time. Great spot. FYI: no cell service.

Hidden gem

This site was a fantastic spot hidden pretty far off the beaten path. We had to fjord an overflowing stream that went across the road but didn’t have any trouble in our Jeep Wrangler. When we arrived we saw a couple tents at a site before we reached the water and only one vehicle by the water at the first “site”. We drive along a path past that first site and parked in another partially hidden water access site. It was perfect. Never heard or saw anyone else. Beautiful sunrise hitting the trees and the stone along the opposite side of the river in the morning. Highly recommend. Just be aware you will not have cell service.
