Just ok.
Pros: level sites, clean, great pull through spots, the host could not have been kinder, and great spot as the hub for day trips in the hill country.
Cons: Not much charm, terrible internet service even with the paid upgrade, constant smell of sewage coming from the center area of the park, hot tub closed in November?, and the office staff was very terse.
I have stayed here for work a total of 8 nights in the last few months. Pros: Clean and well maintained, They are a pool and a hot tub, super easy on and off the freeway, lots of trees, Great people! Cons: pay before you arrive and charge extra for using a credit card and a bit noisy if you are on the freeway end of the park.
We loveed this campground!!! Pros: Well maintained, great layout, great location, on the water. Cons: My only criticism is that our site positioned the sewer connection uphill from our trailer. A bit tough to use.
Only stayed one night by we plan to go back. So many amenities. We caught it in a bad weather day but will definitely return in the late spring and take advantage of all they have to offer.
We stayed one night, on our way to Big Bend from Dallas. Great “no frills” stopping point. Easy to miss the turn in but I’m sure there will be a sign soon. Very new and still being developed. It’s a big rock parking lot with full hookups. Helpful host. Close to Monahans Sand Hills State Park where you can sand sled!
Great place to stay if you want to get away from it all. Be prepared for slow internet an NO Cell Signal at all. We stayed on the full hookup side of the road. The other side has better views but I don’t believe there are any sewer connections. It’s a short drive to the park entrance and not terribly far from Marathon.
We stayed for one night. Beautiful setting with great views of the lake. What a gem. Our only complaint is we had extremely low water pressure so we filled our tank and used our pump. Problem solved!
We were passing through for a trade show and picked the spot as it was 15 min from our event. Great place. Clean, well designed and maintained. The adjacent amusement park is closed due to Covid but i bet it is a blast to stay here when it is open. Wooded perimeter so you feel you are away from the city. Drawbacks: very few- we were invaded by ants but they came and went( could happen anywhere), the roads between the sites we a bit tight- it did not effect us as the park was not full but it could be a problem in peak season.
Stayed for one night. Well maintained, level sites. Easy on and off the freeway. Very basic and clean.
Pulled in for a night. Clean and level. Kind staff. Easy to find. Great place to stop if you are passing through!
