Pretty awesome views and very clean. Also super easy to get to from Redding. We had an inquisitive fox which was cool and there were a few feral cats which was not cool. Only one other group while we were there.
Only gripe was the no fires sign posted which was a little confusing considering they sold firewood and charcoal at the camp store.
Really enjoyed this camp spot. There was a decent amount of traffic due to OHVs and Jeeps, but all the spots allowed you to be kind of tucked away by yourself. The road wasn’t too bad either. Rough enough to keep 90% of people out, but smooth enough that my Subaru Forester didn’t have any problems.
One nice thing about this campground is that it can fit a LOT of people and yet feel like you are by yourself. It gets a little crowded right off the road, but drive a mile or two and it feels pretty secluded.
If you are there for MTBing, this might not be the ideal place since you have to drive a bit to get to the major trailheads.
