Really. Really. Quiet. Quiet hours all day and night. So nice not to hear everybody's musical selections. This park is, after all, right across the road from Interlochen Arts Center, so there's a whole lotta class that just rubs off geographically. Nice lake, good beach.

It doesn't get prettier than Wilderness SP. New sites are full hook-up; others are electric only. Cold water on these beaches - bring a warm blanket to wrap up in if you plan to go swimming. Beaches are not dog-friendly (as is the case throughout Michigan, although dog beaches are starting to make headway). There is a dark sky park nearby - don't bother. It gets plenty dark here, and star-gazing is phenomenal. Close to Mackinac City and ferry to the island; close to Big Mack Bridge.

This one is worth a visit. beautiful wooded sites, sandy creek runs through for wading and playing. The White River runs through the campground. Canoe landing at campground. BYOBoat or rent from Happy Mohawk, about a mile down the road (a nice hour or so float downstream from HM to WRCG landing). Fishing's good, too. Sweet pool, good store, Great facilities, laundry, and all that Western Michigan has to offer. You won't be sorry.

It's clean. It's well laid out. It's well staffed. It's near Holland, MI and Lake Michigan beaches. It has electricity only - no water or sewer in campsites. It's beautiful and piney and full of poison ivy and mosquitoes because it's in Michigan. Suck it up and enjoy the view.

I can't get over the groves of trees between every campsite. Quiet, private, perfect place for Shinrin-yoku. We come back every year - even when we don't really feel like going to Door County, this campground is our destination! Management is so friendly and helpful.

We stayed two nights. Quiet, neat, clean, friendly. Pull-thru and back in sites, easy in-and-out. Take an early morning walk along the lake.

You can't go wrong with KOA. Great one night stopover. Sites very close together; no privacy, but no surprises, either.

Everything you would expect from a KOA: clean, easy in-and-out, all the amenities. We stayed two nights during the week, but it was spring break, and the campground was still quiet and orderly. Wi-fi worked, cable didn't (but they did try to help us out - we had the wrong cable). Not one bit of nature to be found, but you can't go wrong in a KOA.

Full hook-up or water and electric sites, sites are level. Tent sites available. This place has zip-lining, paintball, arrow tag, ATVs, off-road tours, mountain biking, hiking, cabins. It's near Nashville, IN's quaint shops, music venues, Stoney Lonesome, Gnaw Bone, and, of course, beautiful Brown County State Park.

(Four stars because we stayed there during a wedding and the music and traffic from the wedding was a bit intrusive; also, because when we arrived at our campsite we had to ask management to remove a squatter, so the site was not clean).

Canoe, kayak, tube. Fishing is good on the Tippecanoe. Birding is great. Marshy wetland areas near river makes this a high mosquito zone, so slather on the bug juice and enjoy hiking and viewing the natures preserves. Very open campsites, so don't expect privacy or solitude, but a friendly place for families.

It's a very popular park all the time, not just for the Covered Bridge Festival. Over 200 sites, all electric. Some sections are shady and wooded on winding roads that can make backing in a little challenging. Also lots of sunny pull-thrus. Showers and restrooms are well-maintained and clean. Hiking and climbing in valleys and canyons, canoeing, kayaking, tubing, fishing on Sugar Creek. A relaxing and rewarding trip - great place for Shinrin-yoku.

Beautiful Starved Rock is Illinois's favorite state park. Hiking through forests along the Illinois River to canyons and waterfalls with eagles soaring overhead. Historic lodge with good eating, huge fireplace, quaint rooms, and cabins, and a terrific Visitor's Center. However, none of these are near the campground. The campground is actually about a 10-15 minute drive outside the main park. It's a nice campground; sites have water and electric; showers and restrooms are adequate and clean. Sites are wooded and some seem crowded together. This is a very popular park; make a reservation or you might not get a site.

This is a small, bare-bones operation, but it's safe and friendly; a great stop-over for passing through Chicagoland or Joliet. Level sites, full hook-ups. Not far from Chicagoland Speedway.

Located right on US45-US52. Lots of truck traffic stopping at the intersection makes lots of noise at night.
