Gem in the Heart of CNY

Beautiful little park. Wonderful trails, swimming pool, and activities for kids. Camp sites are a little close.

Brisk October at Cranberry Lake

Visited on a whim. The air was changing to cold, and the leaves were marvelous. The campground was technically closed, so there was no one else around. It was wonderful.

Cozy Campground on Piseco Lake

Beautiful little spot. Camped right on the lake. Kayak rentals available and super close to hiking trails. Only negative, got back from 14 miles of hiking and was trying to sleep when a family pulled in super late to set up.

Secluded Island in the Adirondacks

One of the best camping trips I have ever experienced. The island we stayed on only had two other sites. There were 6 of us and a dog. We couldn't hear anyone else. We rented 3 canoes to get to the island, which was a little pricey so if you have your own, it's worth the haul. Beautiful water in the morning and nice clean sites. Only disadvantage is its a bit difficult if you want to hike a ton.

Stormy Weekend on Lake Ontario

Campgrounds are great. Only deducted a star because if the weather. Got to the park on Friday night with storms looming about. Our fire out was underwater. Lake Ontario was so high, there was barely any beach, and the wind was insane.

Bathrooms were immaculate. Store only takes cash.

Beautiful Campground in Catskills

Spent a night here after a festival. Hiked the slide mountain loop the next morning. We asked in the am if there was anything available for the evening after our hike - there was not but they said we could have first dibs once we got back. Luckily there was a site open later and we stayed another night. Cell service is limited, but that wasn't a problem for us.
