Stayed at the Kentuck campground just outside of the town. The campsites are nice. Adequate room, clean bathrooms, and overall a good campground. For us, it wasn't within hiking distance from the main attractions or hiking trails. The campsite sits on top of a long hill with really no room to walk on the road so you have to drive everywhere. Other than that, nothing to complain about.
Stayed here twice last summer. Having a camp site right on the lake makes for a great day of activities. Being right outside of the Isle, gives you access to kayaking, fishing, biking the amusement park, and a ton of other activities. For those considering camping, be aware this is not a white sand beach, it does have some rocks and drift wood that wash up. And also be aware of sand getting in your tent. Other from that, I highly recommend this campsite.
Was planning on camping at Cherry Springs but it was full for the weekend and decided to say here. Great location to camp with family and friends.very quiet campgrounds, clean bathrooms, and the beach at the reservoir makes for a great day of swimming or fishing. About a 10 or 15 minute drive to the observatory field. Highly recommend taking a night to head up there.
