Grandfather Mountain Campground hits the mark in a number of regards; however, due to a recent influx of residents to the area and the subsequent traffic, the campground is very noisy, even through the early evening hours. It has everything to do with it being adjacent to a heavily used highway and butting up against the base of a steep mountain. The noise is probably the only real drawback, otherwise it’s a great location and we have stayed here multiple times.
