spacious sites!

We tent camped here on site 23 in February 2015. Sites were spacious and spread apart! Almost all sites were on West Point lake or had lake views. Bath house was clean but a very long walk! They need a few more so it's not so far from some sites. We will be back!

Army Corps of Engineers campground

We tent camped on site 14 Spring 2017. Big campground with lots of lake front sites or views. Bath house was clean. Very relaxing and spacious sites that are spread out! We will be back!

Get away from it all!

We tent camped here October 2013 on site 36 which backed up to the national forest.  Beautiful mountain views and horseback riding on site!! Bathhouse was clean.

Lots of lake front sites!!

We tent camped in February 2019 on site 47 right on Lake Eufaula! Bathhouse was clean. Most sites are either on the lake or have a view of the lake. Bring your fishing poles and boats, lots of activity on the water! We want to try sites 49, 50, 51, 60, 61, 92, 122…these are on our list as the best sites. We will be back!

Beautiful trail next to the water!

We tent camped here on site 112 on the lakeside camping area. We had a view of the lake and enjoyed renting a double kayak from the state park. Bathhouse was clean. Sites on lake are spaced apart a little more than river campground. We will try sites 87 or 88 on the river next time.

Lake front sites!!

If you want lake front, they got it! Almost all sites either have a view of the lake or are right on lake Allatoona! We tent camped here on site 45 in October 2017. Evening sunsets were beautiful from our site but the walk to the restrooms was a long one. We will get a little closer next time! We rented kayaks from a local company, Murphy's,  and enjoyed time out on the lake every day! Our grandsons had a great time swimming at the beach area…yes, in Georgia you can swim in October! We will be back!!

Beautiful state park!

We have tent camped on site #35 which is right beside a small running creek and close to the bathhouse. We really enjoyed Vogel and are already are booked to return in October! Best sites are on Wolf Creek that back right up to it. It is so relaxing to hear the creek running by! The hike around the lake is an easy one and make sure you go down a little ways to the waterfall!

My favorite State park in Georgia!

This is my favorite! Gorgeous views all around! We have tent camped on site #33 and can't wait to go back!! West Rim campground is the best one, with plenty of space between large sites and most sites are shaded. If at all physically possible, hike to the waterfalls! Going down is fine but the coming back up is a challenge for this old girl from the flat lands of south Georgia, but so worth it! If you can only do one, I think Cherokee falls is the easiest and it's beautiful!

Beautiful mountain views!

We have tent camped here three times and can't wait to go back! The sites in campground 1 are spaced apart, large, shaded and close to bath house. We camped on sites 13 and 15 in campground 1 and on site 52 in campground 2, which I think is one of the best sites in #2. Make sure you hike up to the fire tower and the observation deck for great views! The trail around the lake is very nice and even good for younger kids. Wildlife is everywhere, we saw a large red headed woodpecker, deer, squirrels, and even bears!! We learned our lesson about putting up any food/coolers at night…we have the teeth marks in a cooler as a keepsake!
