Came here with another family for the a few days during the 4th! Took the boat too. Great spot for fishing and playing with the kids. We stayed on the premium lake view site which was solid and away from much of the other campers so it felt private.
Bathrooms and showers were far away and weren't that great. Fireworks from here for the 4th were awesome though!
Biggest gripe with this campground was that every day twice a day the sprinklers would turn on and crush our campsite, so we had to cover sprinkler heads with buckets. So odd that they would have that while people are camping here.
Amazing campground. Expensive, but pretty solid. We were there in may and it was still pretty chilly. The campsite we were at was a bit muddy because of the rain. But our site was right next to the river. The playground was great for the kids and hiking around camp was cool. Reservation comes with firewood bundle, and a welcome bundle with a flashlight and cool mugs. Full warm and good pressure showers as well.
Amazing campground. There were a ton of open spots in early may when we arrived at this FCFS campground. We found a dope spot right at the edge of the bluff with an amazing view for our sprinter van. Dry camping, but a ton of room for our kids to run around too.
Views are unbeatable.
We came here in the early spring which was super cold - got hailed on for a few hours. But overall the campsite was good.
We have never been to the lava beds and it was cool to experience. Hard to say how much of the weather played a factor in our review, but the campsite was just okay.
Caves were dope though! Highly recommend Skull Cave! Pictures don't do it justice.
We hopped into this campground right after opening in early spring. Coming in from the Bend, OR side, it felt like there was gonna be a bunch of snow, but no snow at all in the campground.
The river is literally right next to our campsite which was amazing. There weren't many people this early in the season, so we reserved a spot but could have easily got a FCFS spot.
Highly recommend this campground - no hookups or showers, but the location you can't beat.
Awesome spot for boondocking! Can't beat camping on the beach. There is a picnic table at each spot. No hookups or showers, but they did have porta-pottys.
All the camp spots are right on the beach, and behind them is highway 1 so there is some road noise.
Was an awesome spot with my 3 kids and wife - cooked on the beach and enjoyed throwing rocks into the ocean!
Believe it or not, this was the first camp spot we stayed at with my family and it was my wife's first time ever camping since! We stayed in the premium tent campsites on the bluff that overlooked the beach. These are the best sites hands down in the whole campground. We camped here no problem in our sprinter van.
There are bathrooms and showers are good and nice hot water. There is a coin dispenser there.
The downer is that I thought our camp spot would be closer to the overlook, but it's actually just a parking spot with a grass spot and then walk over to an overlook. We only stayed one night as we were passing through, but would stay here again if we were in the area.
Also, we got there relatively late so the office was closed, got a ticket in the morning and had to walk all the way to the office to get us checked in properly. These premium sites are furthest away from the office just FYI.
