My site (number 1) was good for not being on top of my neighbor but it was next to the tanger station. Some sites are pretty out in the open, close to the campsite road so they feel less like the woods. I would say the best site that feels most like you are in the woods and have the most space is 28. I would book there. The pond is kind of deceiving. There are 2 roped off spots where you can swim and those spots are small and not deep.  You cannot have floats. So its better for a quick dip than a hang out. Bathrooms are fine. Could use one more as its a hike in the morning when you really have to go(!) depending on your site. One thing with my site (1), it was listed as a shaded site but it absolutely was not a shade site. During mid day there is no shade at all. In the morning, as the sun rose (when I took the pics) there was some shade but thats because the sun was still rising. It was big enough to fit a 10 and 12 person tent with a canopy. Not all sites are that big but this one worked. Verizon service was limited to none depending on location, ATT was good

The pros: bathrooms are clean with three stalls (women). Free showers. Good location for hunting

Cons: what site you get makes all the difference. There are Many, I would say most, Sites that you feel very exposed (Like I would jot be comfortable staying there) and out in the open. Just plopped next to someone on the grass. I want to feel like im in the woods. Look for the sites that go off to the side (not on the loops) like 39-40. Additionally, there is a station nearby that offers a constant hum and during the week there are trucks going in and out of before 7am. The closer to the street side the worse it is. The far off sites (like 39-40) the sound is still there but more distant. Sites are closer together and on the smaller side

Spots run closer to main road than others so you can hear the cars go by. Nice ponds. Decent place. Some sites are on slight inclines and have a lot of roots so it makes having more than one tent hard. Some nice pond views. Bathrooms were not cleaned during our stay but it was nice to have bathroom stalls and showers. Cell coverage is iffy in a lot of spots.

Does have some hike in spots and spots that require you to take stairs so just be aware when you book. There are some great waterview spots if you can get them. Decent sized spots with shade. Bring hand soap for bathrooms.

The campground Itself is a small loop. Some sites are decent and can easily fit 3 good sized tents (only limit to tents is what fits on the site) and some are just for one 6 person tent. Sites are close together and quiet hours (10p-6a) are taken seriously. This does not just mean music goes off, you also have to whisper if you want to stay up and hang out around the campfire. So if you want quiet this is good, if you want to hang out you should go elsewhere. One major concern, I wish I had known, is there are no sinks. There are signs to wash your hand but not a single sink during Covid. The bathrooms are outhouses. No flush and not pleasant smelling. No mirrors or lights or sinks in the bathrooms. No where to wash dishes. There is a hand pump that dispenses like a bubbler and is only for water drinking. So depending on what you are looking for in camping this is either perfect or not what you want.
