Great place basically boondocking!

It is a rustic campground 27 sites, pump for water, pit toilets. Has pavilion due to get electricity in July 2023? Canoe/kayak launch on the Eau Claire River. New playground equipment 2022. 27 large rustic sites, firewood available for sale onsite!! No electric but great rustic camping.

Great place for overnight or longer

Fern Lake has almost two separate campgrounds. One for overnight stops and one for camping. Has bathrooms, laundry and showers. Cute little lake with coats and geese and painted turtles and room for dogs to run off leash.

Great little campground!

It was tough to find at first! You need to go I to what you think is the dam area and then campsite entrance is on the left when you are almost at the dam gateway. 10 sites with water but no electric or sewer. Very quiet right on the river. The dam makes a great white noise for sleeping! I kept thinking I had left a fan on the 1st night, lol! Just two of us here though it is weeknights. Bathroom and showers are across picnic area and up some stairs…always closed when I tried them.

Only Dane Co. Park open year round

Nice park, but sites close together without foliage between them.

Great campground with outstanding hosts!!

This a great little campground in the process of improvement. Now has added sewer to more sites. Has tent sites with water and electric (30&50) too! Direct access to Doe Mtn for ATV trails from camp ground. They are hooked up with a group that does guided ATV tours. Hosts are amazing and caring…very flexible if they are able to be around previous reservation. Has pavilion and group campfire pit! Went to visit some friends nearby for 2 weeks, ended up staying 2 months!! Will definitely be back if come this way again! Adorable creek and cascade for peaceful sounds of running water!

Beautiful views

Great campsite if you don't mind being about 150 yards from I-24. No firewood available on site. However, comes with a group of about 80 loons and boat access to the TN River. County Park with monthly and day to day sites.

Nice place to stay

Coon Forks is a county campground with a nice lake with two beaches and a boat landing, but only non-motorized crafts allowed. Campsites are private with waterfront and electric sites. Some sites reservable. Some loops better suited for tents Some for large RVs. Canoe, kayak and paddle boat rentals with ice and firewood available fir purchase. On-site ranger and quiet hours enforced.Flush toilets and hot showers.

Great Place to Simply Camp

Harstad is get away camping. Right on the Eau Claire River with canoe kayak access. A great shallow creek for kids to explore. 29 sites mostly separated by trees and brush. A large reservable shelter and field for playing sports on. Only has pit toilets, no electricity and no showers. The bathrooms are are cleaned daily by rangers from another county park. No ranger on site, so you have to request firewood for purchase the day before. Has reduced rate for weekly stays.

Small County Campground right in city

Nice little campground right on Lake Mendota. 29 sites available with electric, but bring an extension cords!! Some sites electric is close by, others not so much! Everything from huge class A's to little tents here this weekend. Has Kayaks available for use.

Nice place, but some campsite descriptions are poo

Site was difficult to back into and neighbor's site was not the 45' listed in reservation tab. Wooded area very near a small town. Haven't been to the beach yet, so will update.

Nice little county park!

29 campsites pretty close together with old growth trees interspersed around the campground. Fishing pier and boating, playground area, and beach. No longer has primitive camping. Some hiking trails…short. is next to a busy road, so traffic all night. Staff was great! Showers and bathrooms cleaned multiple times a day. Pet friendly. Would stay here again!

Nice campground/IL state park

Nice sites in the Potawatomi Campground! Would have been a 5 star but no Campground host on duty the night I camped and no toilet paper in the toilet in the Oak loop. Can't make a reservation day before camping so that kinda sucks as everything is walk in… Am on a "purpose trip" and not a journey, so not partaking of park amenities. I would definitely camp here again!!
