Wow! The Sand Dunes!

I loved that campground is located right on the path to get to the Dunes! Be prepared to be exhausted -- hardest 3 mile hike ever!

I hated that the dish sink wasn't working and the toilets had no soap.

All the essentials

Everything we needed: tent site, toilets, water, great views

Additions: close by beach & great morning views!

Note: we got caught in major winds which turned our tent into a tumbleweed, followed by terrific lightning storm. (We slept in the car that night)

Beautiful but remote

About an hour's drive from Zion, this gem allows you to see the full specter of nature's beauty. The stars at night at this place were simply unspeakably amazing. That alone made it worth the drive.

On the more practical side: the tent had good mattresses, nice campfire, the host brought a fresh container of water daily. Port-a-potties for toilets & a solar shower. We brought food with us, as there aren't really any stores or restaurants nearby.

If you go canyoneering with Red River Adventures in Springdale, they might just bring you right back to Water Canyon for your excursion.

Great campground & great hosts!

This is a typical NPS campground, but the camp hosts were extra nice. Bathrooms were clean, water fill ups, and located next to an apricot orchard, where you can pick your own dessert.

Better than the online reviews!

First of all, it's a campground. I'm not sure what others expected. I'm happy to have a place to pitch my tent, a pit toilet, some place to chill at the end of the day. Maybe this place is more expensive than others, but have you checked the hotel prices in Moab? We got an established site (vs a primitive site) and hung a hammock from the trees. Minimal instructions, we just hung our printed booking confirmation on the post of our choice. Yes it was hot & dusty, but that's Utah at the end of June. We were there mid-week and only a handful of other sites were occupied. Found the noise levels to be satisfactory and the stars pretty impressive. The canyon views were lovely.. Would've gotten bonus points for river access though…
