Clean and well-maintained including the facilities.
We’ve stayed a number of times. Some spots are huge and many have water access. The facilities aren’t much, but it’s a great place to be!
We stopped on our way to the Georgia coast. It was exactly what we needed and an easy in and out!
Quiet campground with great hosts and a relaxed feel. The best part is proximity to great places like Oatland Wildlife center.
We had a blast and the kids loved playing in the sand at the enormous beach. They even have a little nature center that features a wildlife from the area.
We stopped in and stayed in the off season. It was a great place to make camp. High up so you get that real camping feel. Very windy roads to get to the campground. Will stay again!
This one is one of our absolute favorites. The hosts were awesome. The place is separated from the real world by a long causeway in the salt marsh. It had active wildlife like deer, raccoon, armadillo, etc. And it feels so coastal. It’s maybe 45 or so minutes from Savannah too so that’s nice.
We stayed early enough in the season that it wasn’t very busy. The campground is up high, so it’s peaceful. We heard nice birdsongs and felt like we had a lot of space between us and the other campers.
The campground is a decent stop we’ve actually stayed twice passing through. Bonus it’s one of a handful of KY state parks open in the winter but they don’t have the water on of course. They do have a site where you can fill your tank though.
We stayed only a couple nights while passing by and visiting the zoo. Stayed in the off season and the place seemed really well maintained and the staff was very helpful. Looked like it would be a lot of fun in the warm weather too!
This is a nice place to stay if you’re in the area. The site we had was a little small, but had full hookups. Also, we liked the trash cans all over for easy cleanup. Best part was the camp store where you’ll find some of the friendliest folks around.
