Scenery is beautiful, swimming is great, and the bathhouse is decent. The tent area is a mud pit and sites were pretty tight in that field mud pit. The access to the beach almost made up for it. Just for some perspective though, the iron fire rings had rusted through holes in the ground area, couldn't even stay flush to the ground. The fire rings had to be moved because they sunk into the mud and had three inches of water in the bottom.
Sites have great shade and are kept far enough apart in most places that even if your neighboring sites are making some noise, the noise doesn't really carry. Beautiful place. Easy access to lake, beach, falls trail, and surrounding areas. Only problem is knucklehead RVs running generators since there are no electric hookups here.
Such a scenic and beautiful place to camp and the campground is set up perfectly. On that note, the clientele just ruins it. If hearing adjacent sites having hootenannies, getting loaded, blasting out country music, and screaming all night is your thing, this is your place. Tried to call rangers but only got a message machine. The clientele sucks so much
The only knock on it is how tight the sites are, but the communal spirit is great. Love being next to the park and everything. This place is perfect
Basic but clean. Better for campers and seasonal than tenters, but good. There is a nice area to go down to the lake and a swing that you can watch the sunsets on. Tenters are placed in a field spot as opposed to one of the wooded sites that the campers get, so it gets hot for tenting. For camper sites, it is just about perfect. The staff is so nice too.
Place was horrible. We were tent camping and the area they offer for that is up a muddy hill in a mud pit. Getting stuck is likely. Even without that, the seasonal campers are nuts. I was driving slowly up the road and this lady ran out in front of my car and stopped (which I was clearly able to do because I was going very slow) and she screamed that I needed to slow down and that I was "driving too fast." I am guessing she was on some kind of substance or something. Don't ever go to this dump.
