Hike Bike Gaters and Birds

Might as well make this a national park. Was amazing. Campground has huge level pads with big campsites. Well groomed and very clean. So many walking and biking trails. We saw around 30 alligators, 100s of birds and 2 beavers (I think). Was humid and around 85 degrees most of the time.

Windy and beautiful

We hit some big wind 3/21/22. We were in the beach front with waves crashing over so we got luck and moved to the wooded area. While there are some low branches- I was able to carefully maneuver into #125 with my tall fifth wheel. But it was close. Lots of birds, deer, and fishing. I see attraction of the beach front, but the wooded area is really nice with private sites, camp for grills, tables and….trees for shade.

Affordable but bare bones

This is our first trip into Texas and we came in from Carlsbad. There are several options in Fort Davis and this one was affordable at $30 for full hook ups. Pick your site and the host drops off a nice welcome packet that includes local pecans. Aside from newly planted trees and a dumpster, there’s nothing at the park. It’s a dirt lot, but it serves its purpose. If your looking for fancy or anything above hookups- this is not for you. Minutes from town and the Fort at Fort Davis and a just down the road from the state park for some nice hiking. It’s a cute town with enough to keep you busy for a day or three

Close to the caverns

Like everyone said- it’s a parking lot, but big enough for a lot of campers of all shapes and sizes. There are other areas nearby as well. Really close to Carlsbad caverns and about 20 miles from town. Served it’s purpose and while there were fire rings and a dumpster. It’s not a place to stay for more than a day or 3.

Hike and bike

Wanted to explore Las Crusas, and this is just 9 miles from town. The “roped” is BLM area in nice enough, pull outs, but not much room to maneuver. Big rigs beware- we were able to just turn around as there were quite a few vehicles. Past the trail head the road continues but is pretty bad. Needs to be fixed. 4x4 no problem, and there are some great sites just up the road (Rocky). If the road wasn’t washed out- it would be great additional 5/6 more sites with room to park a big rig.

Relaxing and quiet

We came from the west on 10 and exited on Salome rd- it was all dirt. But if you come from the east to courthouse rd it’s paved. We took the mile marker 13 and we’re very happy. Did a great steep hike up saddle mountain trail.

Prescott’s oaisis

Early November ant it was 72°/36°- amazing. A few people taking advantage that the Host was gone. One camper complained to the police. I did not see any riffraff or scary people. We really loved this place. Road sounds in the distance. Some sites are really long I’d say avg is 30-45 feet. Some perfectly level, others not so much. All paved. Hiking and biking. Super close to Prescott. All have tent pads as well as long driveways. So

Best and only place in Santa Fe

Lots of options and always a fair amount of campers. Mostly big rigs and vans. Can be quite dusty, but overall it’s great. Just 5 miles to town.

Petroglyphs and wild horses

Easy access and right on the San Juan River. water and Vault toilets. Two camp areas A &B. B is larger as are the sites. A is for no lthing longer than 22 ft and no trailers. The campground has hundreds of petroglyphs, you can hear the wild donkeys and we saw wild hordes on the river bank. $15 per night Poor cell service -Verizon Butler wash down the road an mile or two has Boondocking and some amazing ruins that are just a mile or so off the road.

GPS glitch…but we found it!

This is a beautiful BLM campground. cement covered dining area, nice fenced in and brick campsite boundary. For reasons we don’t understand we were taken down a nice dirt road that after 2 miles turned into a 4x4 road. Had I not gotten out and scouted- we would have had real problems. Turned around and after a few more wrong tunes headed down W. Piñon Hills Blvd to N. Glade road. Also Sinclare gas station has it all- propane, dump, fresh water. Dump and water was free.

Yes this in an OHV area. Not too noisy but they are here!

Feels like glamping on BLM!

Known for the cleanest bathrooms in town

Amazing staff and incredibly well run RV park with a big campground for tents as well. A one stop shop for all. Laundry, full hook ups, and elk in campground. We saw over 100 elk in RMNP. Lake Mary itself is not amazing, but since RMNP is just 15 minutes away, all is well. Estes has everything- lots of tourists and shops for tourists. Tons of fishing in and out of the park. Biggest grocery is a Safeway with best gas prices as well. $60 a night for full hook ups

Quaint mountain town experience

Staid for a month, full hookups, fair price $650 for a month. Not much to do in town unless you like endless casinos in old town buildings. Hiking nearby, mining tours, home of the Root Beer Float. And the infamous Cripple Creek Donkeys.

Great views for a parking lot campground

While it is a Marina Campground designed for boaters, and there are 3 other campgrounds within the complex, we stayed here on the water. Pit toilets, water spigot, dump station $10 Fishing in the reservoir and 2 miles away to gold metal waters in the frying pan river Site number 8 was the most private of the sites

Inside Colorado National Monument

Great price and beautiful views. Some sites are not level -so bring lots of leveling blocks- the game of Tetris. Lots and lots of big horn sheep. Even on in the campground. Most spectacular views in this NM Host was super friendly and helpful

Boondocking with others

Lots of room for over 100 rigs, tents, vans, though some are in close proximity to each other. Rock slab and sand make up this area (mostly red sand which can get muddy when wet-clay/sand) Lots of off road vehicles but not as bad in October as i assume earlier in the year. Pit toilets and porta John’s scattered about. 15 minutes from Arches NP and 20 to Moab.
