We've stayed at this campground a few times. It is nice, quiet and small. We've enjoyed our stays every time we've been there. A nice perk is that they have upgraded the bathroom from stainless steel toilets. Nice touch.
The modern campground is very nice. Large sites that are separate and easy to get into even in the dark. After hours you have to call for the gate code. Thankfully, one of our group had cell service. The bathroom facility is very nice and updated. However, trying to get access to it in the dark for the first time is an interesting trip. A surprise was that the campsite included cable TV. The pool wasn't open but we walked to it and it looked nice. The Zipline business looked fun. We stopped by the lodge and it looked nice. I heard the food was really good.
There is no mention of showers on the website (https://www.gogebicforestryandparks.com/lakegogebic)) and I guess that is because there isn't any. The bathroom is an older stone building. Nice but could use some updates. There wasn't any locks on the stalls on the men's side.
The RV dump station is right next to the flush bathroom building.
The campsites were nice and open. There was evidence of larger trees by our site but there were gone. New seedlings have been planted.
There isn't any Wi-Fi or cell service in the campground.
Note: many of the other reviews are for Gogebic State Park. Previously this campground and the State Park had the same name in the app.
This is always a beautiful drive to the campground and in the campground too. We've stayed in the West campground once and East campground twice. In the East campground there isn't any defined sites and it can be interesting to park larger rigs in the sites. We have a teardrop so we didn't have any problem. In the West side the sites are more defined so it is easier getting into them.
The facilities are nice however one of the showers was stuck on and I couldn't turn it off. The showers were nice and separate.
The campground hosts are very nice and have free coffee in the morning.
This campground is a good location to activities within St. Ignace. The person in the site next to us was in Site 5. But, good luck trying to find it on the map. The sites are tight in this campground but with our teardrop we had no problem.
We never got connected to the Wi-Fi in the site we were in.
The bathroom/shower building is okay but seems to have been built decades ago without any updates. It seems like some money should be spent on facilities upgrades at some point.
The staff were very nice.
There is a lot of activities at this campground. We didn't use them though as we had other things to do in the area. Our site was in a large grassy area without marked spots (not a problem). The bathroom / shower building was very nice. But, one complaint is that there wasn't any place to sit in the showers to dress or undress. There was one patio chair to use but more shower stalls.
I couldn't get connected to the Wi-Fi at our campsite. There was cell service connection at the bathroom building.
This was a nice campground. The area we stayed in was spread out but there appears to be a seasonal area where the campers are packed together. The facilities were nice as was the staff. A storm hit the night we were there that knocked out power to the campground. Power was restored during the night.
Nice campground that is close to the city. One area has sites closer together and another area more spaced out and wooded. Nice facilities.
Good campground with plenty of sites. Owners are very nice. Some activities and the owners do tubing on the Rum River.
This is a seasonal campground with occasionally shorter stays. Very popular due to location to the Twin Cities. There is a swimming pool. Campground is well maintained.
