We visited this site Memorial Day weekend after driving through the 108 on Sonora Pass. It took about 30 minutes to get to the campground from the main road. Our site had two tent spots, a picnic table, and a fire ring. The campground itself has vaulted bathrooms. Each site was a short walk to a creek and the trail that leads to the hot springs. The campground can get busy, but each site is a good distance from eachother. They allow dogs too. They do not have bear boxes so be careful where you leave your food. You are a short driving distance to twin lakes which has beautiful scenery of the Eastern Sierra, and the town of Bridgeport has Hot Springs too. Overall a stunning campground with amazing views.

It is a beautiful campground located off Kaiser Pass Road. Even in June there was so many wildflowers and vibrate green. There was bathrooms and each site had a picnic table, fire pit, and bear box. Creeks ran though many of the campsites. There was trails close by and so many meadows. The roads nearby can take you to Kaiser Wilderness and Kaiser Peak. By car it’s only assessable between June and October and it’s worth the wait if you happen to try to come up the beginning of November like we did the first time near huntington lake. The road is pretty haggard to get to the campground. It also gets extremely cold at night so make sure to bring warm clothes and have a good tent and sleeping bag. The creek was really cold so if you need drinking water you should bring some or bring a filter. I would also suggest bug spray of some type because the mosquitoes are pretty relentless there. The stars are beautiful and the site is free too.

Stayed here one night over the weekend and it was pretty nice. Nobody else was in sight. Each sight had a picnic table and a fire pit. It’s off a pretty rough dirt road between Pine Flat Lake and Dinkey Lakes. The reservoir was pretty nice except for all the electrical wires. Its also right next to a damn that is ran by PGE. There was a warning next the the shore that warned that water levels can increase in an instant so we didn’t go down to it. There is a lot of views to the campground and beyond it. It is also free!

We stayed at campsite 12 out of 25. They have group campsites and single campsites which is great and it Is also free and you can stay for up to 14 days. Each came with a picnic table (two if a group) and a fire ring. There are vault toilets that weren’t the worst one I’ve been too. You can see the Kings River and hear it really well. It is a beautiful canyon not far from Pine Flat Lake. It is family friendly and the ground is pretty comfortable to have a tent on. Amazing views of the stars at night, really beautiful weather during the day and night. It might get pretty hot though during the summer months because it’s only at around 1000ft in elevation. Its close to so many creeks too. If you like going up dirt roads and seeing bears or amazing views I definitely would recommend coming here. At night along with seeing the stars and hearing the river, you can also hear frogs, and there is not very many mosquitoes.

Located about 3 miles before Florence lake off of Kaiser Pass Road is this beautiful campground. Each site has a picnic table, fire pit, bear box, and tons of trees that offer shade throughout the day. Half of the camp sites go along the lake itself. The other half of the sites go along the other side of the road and you can see a beautiful view of Ansel Adams Wilderness. At night you have the most beautiful view of the start sky. I would strongly suggest to bring insect/mosquito repellent because you definitely will get bit up a lot due to the standing water from the lake. The campsite is $23 a night, has at least one vault toilet, is dog friendly. You are close to Florence lake, groceries, hiking trails, and Mono Hot Springs too. It is definitely child friendly as well. Our one year old loved seeing the stars at night and the blue jay that liked hanging out at our campsite. I would also suggest if you come at night to drive slower than normal along the road at the campsite because you can easily miss an empty site and since Jackass Meadows is closed due to flooding and the beetle, Ward lake is the closest alternative.
