We stayed for a week and had a great time. Campground staff was informative and pleasant. Location was ideal and amenities were plenty. Pool is heated. Bathroom facilities are dated compared to some KOA’s but were always clean. Appreciated little things like they use electric mowers to landscape so campers aren’t interrupted from relaxing by noises machines.
Nice park very clean. Nice bike trails and large campsites. First time at Lake Erie don’t know if I would swim in it… but there is a large beach as well.
The park/location is a 5. The beaches, the dunes the wildlife, the ice cream shop… but this is a campground review and I’d give that a 3. We had a blast tons of kids everywhere. But there are some very nice sites and some that I would be bummed to be stuck in. The grounds don’t seem manicured at all and I didn’t actually see a ranger drive through our entire stay. No water hook ups at site is a downer too. All and all I give it a 4 and we would come back and just be very picky about our site. 92 is fine if you have a smallish rig.
Great hiking and vistas. Beautiful river and great fishing. Take the drive to Sonnes pond. Absolutely no cell signal so navigating by car can be tricky. Having no at site water connection is not something we are used to seeing so that was a pain. State parks down south I’m guessing are newer and maybe that’s why we have never run into this before.
Great experience. Nice facilities. Good trails. Fun nature center for kids. Mini golf
Location great convenient to key west but quiet at night. Great pool great bar. Clean facilities. Lots to do.
I’m is a great park and near impossible to get into but because of space limitations the sights are on top of each other. Often my chair would be within 2 feet of my neighbors sewer line which is kind of gross. Bugs were horrible worst I have ever been tore up. Spray and candles did almost nothing. And no campfires allowed which is always a bummer. I would go back for the beauty of the area but as a campground this state park is lacking.
Had a gem of a spot #36. Tons of shade big space lots of privacy. The beach is great and downtown at Augustine is 5 minutes away.
Beware raccoons here they are bold and continue to approach you even if you are walking at them.
We had such a great time campground was great and all of the staff at the park were extremely polite, happy to be there, and helpful.
So apparently every so often the Sante Fe river floods out this spring with no warning. We checked the website the morning we left all was well. By the time we drove 2.5 hours to get there it was brown and murky and unusable. Sadly the spring is the only reason to camp there and with no warning system we wasted a lot of traveling for no reason. The place was a ghost town everyone left. Other cons… 1.5 mile very uneven dirt road with big bumps and trenches. Beat the heck out of my camper just trying to get there. Entrance to campsites once inside not maintained any better my minivan barely had clearance to reach campsites. The springs are beautiful when open but in my opinion not worth the risk traveling to unless you are very local. Campsites very blah very close very basic. We left after about 30 minutes.
Great place. Amazing overlooks and some of the most beautiful waterfalls you will find. We stayed at site 27 which was one of the nicest. Restrooms are dated but welcome center / store is super nice. We would love to visit again.
Our site (33) was very nice. Far warning look into what you book as they all aren’t the same. Admittedly I am more of a state park person but my kids had a blast at this KOA. great staff and service. Great location can be at look out mountain or downtown Chattanooga in about 25 minutes. WiFi was great for movie nights. Kids bounce pad and play area were great.
Such a great place to camp with the family. Water front sites so we could take 10 steps out the camper and be in the water with the kayak. The park also has some of the best natural beaches in FL. The store is great and employees were super friendly. Only drawbacks was dust from roadways as it was windy and had not rained in a bit. No fire rings you have to bring an acceptable one or rent one from them. And the raccoons are everywhere so keep your trash put away.
Our second trip here and it is always a blast. Rented a golf cart and the kids loved that. Problem is the mask policy as soon as you step out of your site you are required to wear a mask. Just a pain in the but. Other than that this is a must stop.
Such a special place would definitely recommend. Our site was huge! But packed shade that was only drawback.
One of those places that makes you feel blessed to live in the South East. Literally in the middle of no where while still being a reasonable drive from Central Florida. Some campsites were small some did not have great drainage. Those are the cons. We had site 48 and from what I saw it was the best in the park. Get there early rent a boat prices are reasonable we saw easily over 50 gators swimming and sun bathing all around us. The sky here is amazing too. A must visit.
One of our favorite places to visit. The springs are amazing. Camping facilities are nice. Would be 5 stars if they had some sites with electric hookups. Outside of that a great place for tent camping.
Had a tire blow on 95 just a mile from here. We were so happy for our unscheduled stop. Great store on sight. Free breakfast and pizza and wings delivered to your site.
Only could stay for one night. But had a beautiful lake front site. Right by the playground. Really nice facilities.
Disney magic plus camping… what else can I say. Great facilities great atmosphere. Only negative is lack of fires being allowed.
